You'd better have a letter from your doctor and a copy of the prescription.

There should have been a form to fill out when you took your test disclosing any medications you were using at the time of the test.
If you did not disclose that you was taking vicidin (hydrocodone) at the time of the test, you may look less credible to your potential employer now that you are stating it.
Documention is your best bet now. Have documentation of when you was prescribed the medication, by which doctor, and how often you was taking it. Contact your employer ASAP and let then know you will be testing positive for a legally prescribed medication, and provide them will copies of all your paperwork.

If it's a problem - you can tell the employer it was prescribed to you - show proof of the prescription - and you'll be fine.

most only check for illegal opiates cuz illegal are natural and prescriptions one are synthetic. i passed the test at my current job while taking hydros. i also put it on the paper that asks what you have taken and had a prescription handy in case of questions. but the hydros were never an issue

If it does it does not matter, just show them your prescription. And inform the employer before you take the test.

good look, know from experiece, and don't ever take someone else, they will get you every time.......

yep, I would be right up front and show them the prescription and if possible a doctors note, that should explain anything that could come up do to the prescription.

You should be fine with a doctors slip! They always ask what meds are you taking. Good Luck!

You should be fine, since the medication was legally prescribed by your physician.
