Were part of a fraternity so he often feels left out of our parties and social functions because he doesnt drink. so i am trying to find a way for him to get drunk and still be reasonably healthy. Wine is too expensive so dont mention that.

NO, no serious athlete will drink. Being drunk kills brain cells. There is no "healthy drunk".

you don't need to drink to be part of the group. drinking doesn't make you cool. does your friend want to get drunk? Or do you just want him to be? Two entirely different things. My brother doesn't drink, is in med school, soon to be doctor, and most of his friends do drink, and he is secure enough in himself to not care.

wine is unforunately the most healthy, as it does have some properties to help your heart. And I completely disagree with you that wine is too expensive. Most of the wine I buy, costs less than a six pack of beer. And especially when compared to hard liquor wine is definately cheaper. However, you might also try rum and coke or rum and soda. tequila and fruit juice, etc.

There is no reason for him to have to get drunk. Then be hung over the next day and then have to train. Then you say do not mention wine because it costs to much. So are you saying your friend is not worth the cost of wine? Maybe all of you need to stop drinking alcohol so then he will not feel left out.
Or maybe you want to get him drunk so you can get him in your bed...........

moderate drinking wont hurt the guy.

wine and champagne are the higher up in vit-b 12 but... it's costly.

beer wont kill him... but everything in moderation.

harder the alcohol the less likely he'll be able to perform... so stick with the moderates.. beer.. wine.. things like that.

wine coolers... more chemicals.. too much sugars.. he may not do so well on those... the cheap flavored stuff sucks also..

he will do best with wine and beer... the rest i wouldn't trust due to high sugar content.. chemicals.. additives.. flavors.

Arnold Schwarzenegger drank astonishing quantities of beer back in the 1970's and also smoked pot, and it obviously didn't impair his abilities (check out his book "Pumping Iron", I'm not lying here). So you can tell your friend to lighten up. A few drinks of *anything* now and then won't hurt him one bit.

he doesnt have to get drunk to have fun. he could sip a weak drink or just watch everyone else get sick on each other and act stupid while he has a pepsi and keeps his clothes puke free and stay STD-less :)
