and i'm not talking flowers and candle lit dinners all the time, i'm talking about a simple compliment, or i dunno, not farting in my direction!!
it seems like all i ever see is "how to please your man" or "how to keep him interested" or some crap like that. why is it never the other way?!

i'm engaged to a great guy, we've been together for over 4.5 years now, and i swear i think i've gotten maybe 2 compliments in that time span. its just not his nature. but then i think about it and it was never any of my ex's nature either and i knew some really sensitive guys. even my best guy friend who always wanted to hook up with me... his best compliment was that he loved my legs and they turned him on. but seriously, it cant be THAT hard to be nicer to a girl!!!

aussieguy - you're adorable. and since he's decided that its fine to fart towards me, i have no problem doing the same. and usually he looks at me and tells me i'm gross and then will do it himself. as for the tampon... well he had to deal with that one once too, but on accident.
so i guess that means i found a good guy? he can deal with me being dumb so long as i can deal with him? i guess i'll just forgo the candle lit dinners...

i know this sounds weird...but if he farts in your direction that IS his idea of romance so to speak. they find it funny to make you squirm and tease you. that's how men show that they like/love you is by teasing you. they do it to their buddy's and their sisters.....so that's how they show their women they love them too.

men simply don't think about these things like women do
in our own way we are romantic towards you you just don't see it that way
most women feel that a man is attracted to her(looks, taking care of the home and kids) so women work on these things.
most men feel that women look for a man that (fixes things around the house, protects her) so men make sure that these things get done.
what most people don't realize is once you have truly let down your guard you are revealing you true self and what is more romantic than to let your partner know the real you not the person you show off to everyone else that doesn't truly exist

Guys Nowadays only want sex and its rare to find one who dosent
Girls needs to be more open and not so conceited
Guys are not really romantic cause maybe no one taught them
Nowadys everyone has this mentallatly that just because a person looks good they have a good personality
Girls like certain types of Guys nowaday making it hard for Guys to find a girl they actaually like

Well, sorry to tell you this, but guys aren't as emotionally "needy" as we women are. To them, you simply being there is enough. They don't need the 'I love you' or the walk on the beach or any of that because that's just how they're made.
I was with my last boyfriend for 5 years and he considered us buying fish for our aquarium romantic, go figure. And I didn't find that out until I asked him about being romantic. So maybe you should just ask your guy what he considers romantic, because as far as he's concerned, he probably thinks that he is.

This is SO easy to rectify! All you have to do is compliment him often and it will come back to you 10 fold! Guys are like that. They have to feel appreciated, loved, and you must put them on a pedestal as your "king". Treat him nice. Be loving to him an let hiim know how much you appreciate him. DO NOT bash him in front of ANYONE! Treat him as you wish to be treated, and it WILL happen, sooner than later.
Once you do that, there is NOTHING that he won't do for you. It's kind of weird that it works that way, but that how guys are.

you may not have found the right kind of guy. the right kind of guy would be an intellectual, fun, deep thinking guy....now I know this sounds like what you talked about in your explanation, but compliment him and do romantic things with or for him...thats the best way I know how to get him to show you romance.

'farting in your direction' ??????????????????
Oh PLEASE ! not ALL men are Neanderthal gorillas more suited to a cage.
YUK ! What a PIG !!!
As far as 'romance' goes, a lot of man have been taught that being romantic makes them weak and soppy.
You have to gently ease him out of that mindset.
BUT as far a THIS one's concerned - KICK HIM OUT OF YOUR LIFE !!
A man that does that near his girlfriend is NOT WORTHY to be with her in the first place.
How would he like it if you did the same ? . . .
or better still ,left your used tampon in the bathroom ?

The last thing us romantic guys will do is post stuff about what to do. We are a rare breed and will never share our secrets with the losers who dont know what to do.

The quick answer is that we're dumb.
The actions of most guys are determined by their lower head, not the one on their shoulders.
Since it requires higher brain function to be romantic, and no brain function to do those other things you describe, we inevitably do those other things far more often.

It appears you're dating Neaderthals there Mickey. Look harder for a decent guy. try older. They usually come considerably more mature and know a good thing when they see it.
