I recently told a german girl i know "Schoenen Abend" at the end of the night. Does this mean good night or did I say that incorrectly. I am worried i said "have a good night" wrong and made an idiot out of myself. I thought Gute Nacht was more of something you say before bed. I know "schoenen TAG noch" means have a good day, does this apply to saying good night? was i incorrect or is it okay? i hope she also didn't think i was refering to the weather.
