I am 65 tomorrow and of late I have real trouble remember things unless I write them down. Otherwise, I most think about whatever i am doing at the moment, interrupted by things like hungar and a telephone call. Not like i used to me, juggling 100 things at time. Now i have the opposite of ADD, learning long complex and new things are instantly rejected. Kind'a like my cat. I have just discovered that with a stop watch that i can be tested for severity. I cannot remember to check on it and remember what i was thinking until i happen to look at again. I reset repeatedly. Cannot remember what i told myself to remember five minutes ago. Comment Please. Not about me specifically. Just my question about the meaning of my new stop watch idea. What does that tell me or what does it tell you? Thank you for reading the whole question.

I WAS NOT ASKING for a cure or how to take notes or tie string around my finger. I want to know about the stop watch test and really nothing else. Only doing would prove it works for me and not as something jog my memory. Rather, it shows you how much is in one and out the other. I really did this by accident. I was really suprise at what i could forget in a couple of minutes. As soon as i got involved in something else. For me that is certain if i am working on an answer for someone in the computer section here. PLEASE will someone try again?

1] carry a small notepad with you in your pocket. Write down the important stuff.
Put permanent things, like pill schedule, on calender and inside back cover of notebook.
2] get a wristwatch with a timer on it. set for early AM, noon, afternoon, bedtime. Check notebook these times to remember phone calls, appointments, etc.. Check notebook several times a day.
3] take your vitamins with minerals - a little bit can help a lot.
4] exercise! go for walk, do house or yardwork - whatever gets blood pumping also improves flow to brain.
5] avoid fried, fast, and junk food - even diet junk food
6] see your doctor for medical evaluation - he/she can review your meds to see if they may be impairing your memory; or add some to improve memory.
