umm, i dont think so.
border personality disorder is a condition that is usually present in someone long before symptoms arrive; however it could be possible that the disorder has been brought about by something that is traumatic to that person. trauma brings out alot of underlying emotions. Sounds to me as though this is an abused person and that more then likely one has nothiong to do with the other
good luck

Under causes there is something about childhood possibly being cause. This is an extract:
'Numerous studies have shown a strong correlation between childhood abuse and developing BPD. Many individuals with BPD report having had a history of abuse, neglect or separation as a young child.'

Yes, certainly! Traumatic things happening to you in your childhood and adolesence can cause this. But don't give up hope because people can eventually grow out of this condition as they gain self awareness. It may take time and a lot more experience but you can get there!

if not borderline, it could cause some emotional problems if left without being addressed.
a child's feelings are important, and being abused by others is wrong.
if you know someone like this, i'd suggest medical help. they need to see their doctor.

there is a high number of people who have BPD and were victims of child abuse. BPD has other behavioral characteristics too though, and it mostly has do with not being able to control emotions, black and white thinking, and self injurious behavior/suicide attempts, fear of abandonment issues too.
