What does it say about our country when someone like Mahmoud Ahmadinezhad goes to a college as a "distinguished" speaker, and the kids have no problem with his "Death To America" slogens, no problem with him killing our brave troops by proxy, and no problem with him trying to obtain nukes for his terrorist allies; but they DO have a problem when he says something about HOMOSEXUALS ?

Every time this guy's name is mentioned,. all everyone thionks of is gay, gay, gay. Can't you get your minds out of your crotches? Good God almighty: Is everyone really that screwed up in the head? Have the ex-hippies from the 60's who run today's Universities really twisted up our kids' minds that badly? Can't you think of anything more impostant than that?

This is the first time I think I have ever agreed with you.

It is funny (ironically, not ha ha) that the homosexual remark is the one most remembered. I wanted them to follow-up again on why he couldn't answer with a Yes or No if he was going to wipe Israel off the map. He opened up by praying for the coming of Imam Mahdi, who is going to kill Jews according to Islam, he continued to deny the Holocaust albeit in a more roundabout way this time, continues to deny any wrongdoing on the part of ANY Muslim especially himself, continues to lie about nuclear power and weapons, but the only lie heard was "no homosexuals in Iran". Makes sense.

I still firmly believe the UN should be removed from the United States of America and we should probably withdraw from the UN. The little lunatic should never have been invited here to begin with.

God Bless.

i know what you mean. i don't know what made people think that inviting him to come and speak at a college was a good idea. They tried to turn around the public opinion of the whole thing by "grilling him" but how much of an impact do they really think they have on him since they aren't world leaders? I was so confused when i heard that he was invited to speak in the U.S at all it was like some messed up joke. I mean give me a break he wants to kill us and wipe out the Isrealites as well. The people involved with giving this the okay clearly need major help with their decision making skills to say the least. yet again thanks for being a rational voice among the seemingly endless opinions out there. :)

Columbia U is full of brain-dead liberals who love Ahmadinejad because the guy hates Bush (just like they do).

Of course the geniuses are just now realizing why Bush doesn't like the Hitler of Iran- because Ahmadinejad is a fascist pig

Where was he cited as a distinguished speaker.

the person who invited him described him as "a petty and cruel dictator" who denied the holocaust.

And told him:
"You are either brazenly provocative or astonishingly uneducated,"

I think that having this idiot come over an speak his blatant lies and have the youth of today hear them from his own lips is an excellent thing. Judging by the audience's reported reaction they understood him exactly.

Have you been invited to speak yet?

It wasn't the fact that it was a sexual issue; it was the fact that guy is in such denial that makes it the hot topic. Is he really deluded to believe the lie? I'd say no. But in order to get his point across to anyone in his country that *might* think it's okay to come out of that closet, he made it clear where they stand. It's not about sex; it's about control.

What it says to ME is that this country ALLOWS people of differing views to express their opinions. And all of the discussion about what he said shows the right to disagree with what he said. If we ONLY wanted a view that is popular (or worse yet, deemed CORRECT by an arbitrary standard) to be heard, we just need to look at places that have state sponsored press, like The old Soviet Union did

I can honestly say I never defended that guy for any reason. In fact he is the one we should have went after instead of saddam.

there were quite a few protests outside.

and when the guy introduced him, he basically said "the guy who's about to talk is a crazy dictator"
