Yes, it is - provided you travel at 7.30am from Carmarthen, arriving at Swindon at about 10.30. That is the only through train from west of Swansea through to Paddington.(It's running much earlier than when I last used it 3 years ago when it was about 10.15 from Llanelli). Otherwise you have to change at Swansea or Cardiff or Newport (Gwent) depending on the time of travel.

Yes you can get from Carmarthen to Swindon, but sometimes you have to wait for a connecting train at Swansea, it depends on what time of the day you are travelling. Look at the timetables and it will tell you if the train your going for is direct

Yes you can but there are only 2 trains each way i believe, one early in the morning and one about mid evening. If you go to your local station that deals with advance purchase they have a system that can pin point this within minutes given a good clerk.
