Its not just homosex, it's sex in general. My theory is that religion is partly the product of not getting any. If having less sex makes you more spiritual, and this immaterial spirit is more valuable than what you actually do, then people can profit by that. They can use and twist it into some pretty horrible things.

I don't agree with homosexuality for two reasons.
1) I'm a Christian and have been taught and believe that it is a sin.
2) It goes against "nature." God created us man and woman so that we would get married and have babies. In nature it is the same way. Male and Female animals make babies. It is important enough that reproduction has been made a characteristic of life. I am saying that homosexuals aren't alive because they can't reproduce. No. I'm saying that that their choice is unnatural because it doesn't allow them the opportunity to reproduce. There are instances in nature where animals exhibit homosexual behaviors but some animals also eat their young so I don't think its the best idea to use animals as your role model.

I doubt they are tempted, most people have no idea why they do what they do. The desire to reproduce motivates many of our actions and takes up a large chunk of our effort. I think Christians view homosexuals as broken or defective people.
They can't come to terms with the idea that the sole purpose of a person isn't simply to reproduce. As humanity has achieved sapience, we should be able to find happiness and meaning in whatever manner that we deem fit for ourselves.

I'm Pagan. I'm not focused on it at all. It's perfectly natural and healthy, we (generally) support all acts of love and pleasure.
However, as an American, I am focused on homosexuality because I believe in equal civil rights for all and they're being discriminated against.
Edit to the below: You need a class in sociology. Morality has NOTHING to do with religion. Ergo, I'm too moral to be a Christian.

I think that it has to do with the "go forth and multiply" command that was given in the old testament. Only Heterosexuals can produce children. This isn't such a big deal anymore since the world is pretty much overpopulated.
So modern day folks are probably just paranoid that the thought might occur to their kids if it is acceptable. That would be a personal affront to their image as the perfect parent.
Just my two cents.

You said it all,Eddie :)...Back in the day, infant survival rates werent high, and the human beings who made up the myths that today are the major religions probably decided that homosexuals werent 'pulling their' weight',because they, obviously, werent procreating. So,they made it a sin, plain and simple. Are they tempted?Well, for every Sen,Craig, who gets caught,I'm sure there are a couple who don't.Do the math, they've got their' share of people who, according to them, shouldn't exist.:)

because of the fact it makes them experience extra helpful approximately themselves- and their very own "sinful" "way of existence selections"- to point out the sins in others. they ought to think of God grades on a curve, yet is each and every so often asleep on the wheel. And Society craves a scapegoat for its issues, and it is now not politically ideal for the Bible Thumpers in charge the Irish, feminists, Jews, and blacks, so now they have moved directly to gays, "the liberal media/Hollywood" and hispanics (thinly disguised as an assault on unlawful immigrants- yet all of us comprehend who they are concentrated on, in no way Christian refugees from the middle East).

They are afraid. Beneath all anger and hatred is a fear. What they are afraid of, I'm not sure. Perhaps they think if they approved a homosexuals, the whole world will turn gay and the population of the earth will be wiped out.

Seem to be. It's part of the natural world. Societal pressures are the only things that seem to make it prohibitive. These proceed from false assumptions.

i dont believe even they can tell you why without saying they were told taught ect it is evil-just doesnt fly in the face of logic or reason-dont see the sense of trying to argue with someone on this matter as it is hard to convince someone they are confused when they truly believe they are right-as for me i think it is best to just except people the way they are-pal
