I think Buddhism is pretty chic right now. It's gaining more and more members in the West, so that's a yes. Antoehr one is Kaballah, but some people think it's kind of a cult, and that's not chic.

Chic? ha ha, probably ( in the US) Episcopalian; in England, Church of England. Lots of hoi polloi in those groups. Of course Unitarians like to hang out at Starbucks after church and discuss the state of the world over the New York Times. That strikes me as chic, or at least wannabe.

Yes, Buddhism used to be very "in" during the nineties and now Wicca seems to be on the spot but it's very relative,it depends on where you are in my opinion. Ancient religions are still very trendy. It's a pity most people following them do it because it's the trend but have no clue what they truly are about.
