That's a question that's been in my mind all these time, yet I've never asked it. I do NOT think anyone can tell who God is, what God is and how she/he thinks, because we can BARELY tell what each other are thinking, let along... trying to read a God's mind? That sounds absurd. I don't think anyone can say such things and that no one should speak for anyone else but themselves and let their own opinions be heard. Interesting question! :D I'm glad you posted it.

If any one person in the world can prove to me---scientifically---that the Bible is the "Word of God", then I'm in. However, that cannot be done, and so to me renders the Bible right up there with the works of the Brothers Grimm...a bunch of fairy tales.
If there is a God (or insert your word of choice for a supreme being here) then I just know that you can't go wrong by following the Golden Rule.
Peace Sister.

Sin is a word that has been greatly misunderstood and misinterpreted. Literally translated from the ancient Greek in which the New Testament was written, to sin means to miss the mark, as an archer who misses the target, so to sin means to miss the point of human existence. It means to live unskillfully, blindly, and thus to suffer and cause suffering. Again, the term, stripped of its cultural baggage and misinterpretations, points to the dysfunction inherent in the human condition.

Firs of all there probably is no god and no afterlife, also if u r in to god and stuff it says in the Bible to judge people favorably and no one can say what god wants because no one has talked to god, everyone trys to translate the bible into what they want it to be, unless u have a chronologicaly perfect hand down of it u cant say what it means. God and religon are two different things too if theres a god I feel god hates religon.

Who cares?
It's not that difficult to think for oneself about what is sin. The Ten Commandments are a handy guideline, but it also helps to imagine something you're considering doing being done upon you.
Imagine killing someone. Would it be wrong for someone to up and cap yo *** with a Glock? Yes, certainly. Therefore it's probably equally wrong to do that unto someone else.
Imagine discriminating against someone based upon their choice of belief system. Does it seem wrong for some complete stranger to tell you what is or isn't a legitimate belief system for you to subscribe to? Does it seem wrong for someone to impress upon you obscure words written by long-dead people in a holy book whom you have never known yourself? Yes? Then it's likely similarly wrong to act in this manner against another.
Basic respect is a starting point, you respect yourself, and then learn how to respect others by using yourself as a sounding board for actions you consider taking.

"Sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4.
This is talking about the moral law of ten commandments.
The only way to fulfil that law is by having the love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, for love is the fulfilment of the law! Romans 5:5; 13:10.
