My wedding date is Dec.3.Me and my husband want to renew our vows (it will be 10 years)The problem is its in winter time and I do not have a house big enough for every one.So it would have to be done outside, but then it might be to cold for the elders. My grandmother wanted me to have it in June or July. And if I have it in June can I use the winter colors for the decorations. This is the time our families get together and see me and my husband recite our vows to one another. When we got married we went to the justice of the peace. We had a lot of hard times and now we are starting over fresh.Bottom line no one thought we would last.So now we want to do this right,in front of or families. We are not having a wedding, more like an anniversary with renewing the vows with the clergy. So even though we got married in december can we do our renewal in june.I want this to be special.

No problem there- lots of couples hold their reception months after the actual wedding date, so why can't you do that with your vow renewal? Besides, springtime is so much prettier and you can wear a pretty summer dress. Just remember that June is wedding season, and if you plan on having flowers, cake, etc. the price might be driven up for such a popular time of year for that sort of thing. Congrats on 10 years together!

Sure, you can renew your vows at any time/date you want. My grandparents renewed there vows a month after their 50th anniversary, and it was no less special than if it had been on their actual anniversary. My anniversary too, is December 3rd :) (2 years) and we married outside. Though it was a bit cold, the ceremony didn't last that long and noone got frostbit or anything like that. (We had several elderly attending)...We rented one of those outdoor blowing heaters like they use at clubs to keep the bouncers warm. Everything worked out great. You may want to look into renting one of these. Also, all our guests wore there jackets...Beautiful sweaters, and what not. However if you'd like to do it in June that would work too. Whatever will mean more to you and your husband. Good luck with the planning and congrats on 10 years.

Since this ceremony is about you and your husband and the wonderful life you have created together you can have the ceremony any time you would like and it will still be a glorious wonderful time which will be filled with love and emotion. And yes, you can use whatever colors you would like whenever you would like to, remember this is about the bride and groom, and what someone else says or thinks is of no consequence. Be proud of your efforts and success. Good luck and God Bless.

its up to the both of you when to renew your vows, it doesn't need to be w/the family and if you could wait till summer for the elders to be there. that's great too.

If you're having a clergyman officiate, why not have it in a church? You can do it in December - on or near the anniversary date.
