Some states have a first time offenders program. Basically you go through alcohol rehab and have a breathalizer installed in your car for a year and if you do all the steps and pass go the DUI come off your record at the completion of all probation terms.

since u give no state, here is the laws in ohio on dwi. http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/driver_license/dui_law.htm
dwi's will ALWAYS be on the record, tho the points typically come off from 3-5 years depending on state. that dui/dwi offense will never come off completely. u will still lose ur license for at least 3-6 months; depending on state. ohio is very tough on dui's as u can see. in this state, manditory 3 days in lockup 1st offense.
get used to walking for awhile. back in the day, the limit for dwi was .10. now most states have .08, and ohio is at .08 for adults, .02 for teens; but teens cant legally drink anyway. driver intervention program DOES NOT erase a dwi conviction, WILL NOT lower the sky high insurance coverage that u are REQUIRED to carry for no less than 3 years in ohio for 1st offense dwi. u seriously jacked urself by willingly getting behind the wheel after drinking. so far u got lucky...u didnt kill anyone. u might not get so lucky next time.

If you do not beat it in court--it will stay on your record--you will have surcharges after the suspension and the insurance will give a surcharge also--this goes on for 3 years after you get your license reinstated. The wallet is the only place to hit the drunk driver--if they think about the money ahead of time, they probably won't drink and try driving. An accident adds to the problem--an injury is sure jail time--a fatality is a LONG jail term...and a lifetime of misery. First offenders often lose the license for 60 days and have a lot to pay to get reinstated.WOW, I hope you won't do that again.

you will most likely have to go to defensive driving course or a dui driving course and you will have your pts reduced but it will never come off your record . sorry but it never comes off your record . also you will probably have to do community service too . good luck and please dont drink and drive anymore .
