You can ask him to LOAN you the money for tickets. If he offers to cover it, fine, but it's nicer to ask him to loan it to you. Better yet, ask your parents to loan you the money and do whatever you can to pay it back.

Wear a dress you already have. Your argument sets women's liberation back to the 50s. You can't have it both ways, so if you invite, YOU pay. Ask mama if you have to, but that is the proper thing to do. I'm SURE what you will do is ask the boy, because that's the easy way; then you'll scream someday when you aren't taken seriously about being an equal member of society.

You know the traditional way a girl pays a guy for a favor, and what that's called....some of these answerers sound a bit like "that type" of girl.

Yes, it is rude to invite him to your party and then ASK to get his and YOUR ticket paid by him.

I would also go for the loan thing..... I'd explain him that I'm very short on cash for the tickets and still have to get money to buy a dress or whatever..... so I'd like to know if he could lend me those $30 and I'll pay them back asap. if he isn't short on cash, he should definitely offer to pay them for you and tell you he's not expecting to get that money back. Hopefully he will. But if not..... then you'll have to work to pay him back!! (which would be quite tacky from him, you know, but that's another story, to each their own and it's HIS money after all). Good luck and have fun.

Why don't you just ask him to lend you some money. He should have no problem with that since it is only $30. You can pay him when you will have the money. And most likely he will buy it than anyways. But I wouldn't ask him to buy it for you cause that would be rude.

Try this. I would love to go to the homecoming but money is short. Let him offer to buy instead of you asking him to do it. If he doesn't offer, do something else special with him instead. Take pictures reguardless of what you do and years from now it will be the time together, not the event you remember.

I would simply explain the situation to your boyfriend and ask if he is able to cover his own ticket... Chances are if he knows the situation he will offer to pay for both, if not ... surely you can make enough for your ticket by babysitting for an evening.... Have fun at the dance!

I think you should wait till his Birthday passes and hen you can ask him for money. That way it doesnt seem rude. And girl you shouldnt be paying the Homecoming he should since he is the guy.....always make the guy pay for your sh.it. You Know it girl!!!

If you have been together for awhile, he shouldn't have a problem with paying. He should understand that you are short on cash.

you invite - you pay. Unfortunately, you are expected to pay. Can you borrow the money from someone?

you invited him so it would be rude to ask him to pay for the tickets.
