My morality comes from my own conscience and empathy. I don't need a god to tell me it's wrong to kill. I already know that.

Well, since I don't believe in the Christian god, and yet I still have a solid moral base, I would say the point is moot. And yet again, you're basically saying that without god there is no morality, which is obviously false. You're saying you would murder, rape, steal and covet your neighbor's goods if it weren't for "god" and "Christian morality." The argument doesn't work, because you have no way of knowing how you would behave had you not been a Christian. Just like your morals would be different had you been born/indoctrinated into a different faith. Morals are subjective to the situation and environment you're in.
Is this the best you have to offer by way of argument?

That would be fine.
Christian morality is a fallacy. Morality is determined by society not directly by religion.
We can see this in different cultures that have accepted Christianity. For instance, in central America catholics that commit adultery are far more likely to be excommunicated from church than people doing the same thing in the USA.
Christian morality isn't real, because each denomination has a different interpretation of doctrine.
For instance 1 Timothy 2:11-15 is pretty clear about the roles of women in group settings. It basically states they are to keep quiet and seek advise from men for opinions. Christians in America don't follow this doctrine, even though Paul was very clear about it, and even stated that women are only saved through childbirth.
Our modern society dictates that women have more value than just providing food for men, most modern Christians accept that and incoporate it in with thier moral behavior.
Thank God, (pun intended) we don't follow biblical morality, if we did, life would be appauling, as it is in many middle eastern countries.
Consider Numbers 5, and wonder how women would feel about drinking tainted water to see if they died from infection, if they were accused of adultery by their husbands.
Real biblical morality is barbaric.

well I get my morals from being a human being, Being raised right (without "god"), and knowing right from wrong because of it. now if by "christian morality" you mean the hatred of homosexuals and people of other faiths I would say the world would be a thousand times better without that closed mindedness anyways. so yeah. lets get rid of it all. sounds good.
Edited to add: to the guy above me. the "Christian God" has not been around since the beginning, unless you believe that the beginning was after the Egyptians, Ancient Greek, ancient african tribes, etc. There were a whole lot of people around before Christianity and their God came along.

It'll never happen. The "Christian" God is the only God. He was present from the beginning and will always be present.
Christian morality, on the other hand is less resilient. It has eroded considerably over the centuries.

And of course, by that you would imply that without the Christian God there'd be no morality at all. That's hogwash. It is immoral in ALL cultures, Christian and non-Christian alike, to murder, to steal, to bear false witness - in other words, morality is universal, not confined only to a certain group of people or a particular religion.

Marooned and others will say they have their "own morality" not dependant upon any religion or god - which is basically just a generally nice philosophy about "not hurting others" - but that is just so much hooey.
Look how good we all are at justifying, rationalizing, excusing our own behavior - no matter how heinous or inappropriate.
Could you imagine a world where we each get to decide our own moral code and act accordingly?!?
Read C.S. Lewis "Mere Christianity" - it simply can't be done.

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth. The word "Christianity" is already a misunderstanding - in reality there has been only one Christian, and he died on the Cross. There are people who want to make men's lives more difficult for no other reason than the chance it provides them afterwards to offer their prescription for alleviating life; their Christianity, for instance.

I am all for it. Christian morality is idiotic dogma, like your fear of sex.
Morals are common sense, inherent, and passed down through generations.
You do not hurt anyone else. You do not take what is not yours. You do not lie and cheat for greed.
What two consenting adults do in their bedroom is none of your business.

Good! Christian morality is bs. If you don't harm others and you take responsbility for your actions and promblems you don't need a diety to blame them on.
