I'm considering getting a membership. I have a family of 4 and I wonder if I would save by shopping there.

How much do you save? Also, do they have good deals on meat?? I'm looking to save especially in the meat!

If you're looking to buy stuff in bulk then YES. Toilet paper, etc comes at a good valuei think its like 15 fo a 32pack. A big ol' box of waffles (i think there's like 50 or 60) costs about $6. Freezer food you need to watch but I still would get a membership. You might not do all your shopping there but you'll save on a lot of items. Meat is alright. My mom will usually buy a big slab of meat for decent price and it'll feed us till we're full (there's five of us in the family)... Good luck!

We order through Costco only because we live in Alaska and we save A TON. EVERYTHING lol and I'm not joking is SO expensive up here. A box of diapers with about 40 (give or take 2/3) is 38 bucks. And through Costco we get 258 diapers...huggies....for 33.99! So basically we are getting over 200 extra diapers for 5 bucks less! Crazy huh? We also order the #10 can (the really big ones) of fruit and veggies. Cleaning products, drinks, basically little things around the house yes we order from there and yes we save a lot. But I think this may only be beacuse we live in Alaska. I know when I was little my mother who lived down south, when I would go to visit her she always shopped at Costco because of the savings but now a days she says its just as cheap to shop at Walmart. Good luck!

I have never had Sam's Club, but I do have Costco membership...I love Costco ( maybe its the samples and Im pregnant lol) we got the card for the formula cost as well ( it is cheaper then Sam's Club..FYI)....and well ended up shopping there. My LO is on whole milk now , but we just renewed. I say if you buy more then just formula , keep the card..its a one time a year fee. We also stock up on diapers from there as well. If you just have it for the formula...don't bother.

You sometimes will save but not always. you have to look at cost per unit. Divide the price by the number of items in the package. Compare the price by unit at a bulk store vs your regular store.
Some items such as diapers are cheaper in bulk. I have never bought meat from Sam's club. If you or someone you know has access to a commissary, i have found that meat there is cheaper than stores.

Yes there are great savings to be had by buying at whole sale stores. Keep in mind that you will be buying in bulk. While you may be spend more in one trip , or on one item, than you would at walmart or target, The amount you buy will last you MUCH longer, and in the long run cost you less, as you are buying it in a large quantity. Make sure you have alot of freezer space if purchasing meats.I can go shopping, and spend a little more than i would in a normal shopping trip, but not have to shop again for the entire month.

I prefer BJ's whole sale for baby products they have better prices. For example. I bought a large box of pampers swaddlers , 216 count, for 25 dollars. A package half that size at walmart would have cost the same.

Costco. Quality meat and fish but not particularly cheap. Buy in bulk when they have offers on. We fill our loft space with toilet rolls when they are on offer which helps insulate it. Giant boxes of soap powder save having to keep buying weekly. Well worth the membership fee. Anything that you buy which breaks down within a reasonable time just take it back and they will replace it.

sam's has really good cuts of meat for the price, not necessarily cheaper than a normal grocery store, but better quality

i'm pretty sure both stores will allow you to look around without a membership, you might compare stuff you normally buy before you get a membership.

Costco used to be a savings. Now it's only a savings with the occasional coupons they put out. Most of their stuff is MORE expensive then buying it in discount stores like Target and Walmart.

You sometimes save, but not always. They seem to have pretty good prices on meats. Baby food/diapers/formula-I find these to be the same prices as Walmart. I've actually seen things that are more expensive when bought there, though. They have good prices on books and clothing.

yes, if you shop there a lot but be careful, some things there are just as much if not more depending on what it is. clothes and kids stuff is generally cheaper as are some big items.
you save more then the membership cost.
