I think the west had an old living problem in getting religion and science without having them contradicting each other!

When you understand that God is the only being with an absolute power, things will make sense. You know that in a democracy the legislative authority makes the laws. Our universe if filled with many scientific laws. Newton’s laws of motion were only discovered by Newton. But they’ve been there all the time. It’s God who has the legislative power of the universe. He was the one who established them. And he is the one who has the power to give permissions to anyone in any situation.

So it was him who made it an exceptional case for Jesus to walk on water. It was him, who made it exceptional for Moses to split the sea with a stick. And it was him who made it exceptional for Muhammad to go to Jerusalem & ascend to heavens.

Count Olaf,

I've come to understand that the same Source Who created perfect principles of mathematics which operate undeviatingly to create ONLY 4 as the answer also created US out of perfect principles, the correct application of which enables us to accomplish anything consistent with those principles.

From a rational perspective, I believe that what we call miracles is NOT contravention of science. The accomplishment of miracles comes from a knowledge base that science has not yet incorporated into its paradigm of "what is possible". Why? Because science does not yet recognize or understand what the basis is for such accomplishment. So it collectively says, "That's not possible." This is a very UN-scientific stance, don't you think?

Do the Heavens still rotate around the Earth? Not after Galileo. Are time and space separate from one another? Not after Einstein. Did you get your vaccines this year? Thanks to Pasteur you did. Is the Earth still flat? Ask Erikson, Columbus or Magellan for the answer. Do you have to read this answer in the dark? Not after a little help from one of Edison’s great ideas.

Consider that ALL the principles these people discovered were in perfect operation just as eternally BEFORE as AFTER their discovery and application.

(And they operate perfectly whether or not you doubt or have faith in the Universe’s operation)

From the standpoint of principle, then, understand that spiritual knowledge HAS ALSO been in perfect operation just as eternally BEFORE as AFTER their discovery and application.

Understand, though, that you must scientifically uncover, know, operate, and practice the correct principles within the "laboratory" of YOURSELF! Exactly as any scientist learns to apply the principles of mathematics or any other scientific discipline. That's what repeatable, verifiable, quantifiable evidence is all about, isn't it?

The aforementioned being said, you should not then be surprised TO FIND YOURSELF WALKING ON WATER when you are correctly applying the relevant principles our Creator endowed us with (any more than Peter should have been surprised as he walked upon the water toward Jesus!) or bumblebees should be surprised that they're flying while flitting from flower to flower!

Have I PERSONALLY done any of these things? No. Not yet. But I know that there are principles involved which are NOT beyond my, or anyone else’s capacity to learn, know, practice, and APPLY.

Not because I’m any more empowered than any other person our Creator made.

Or because the principles of Life operate perfectly, without the slightest deviation, variation, or attenuation at ANY time or in ANY place for ANYBODY!

But most especially because Jesus, WHO WALKED ON WATER, would not have been able to truthfully say "Greater things than these shall you also do." Not so just one person can do it, but so that anybody could do it, following relevant principles. And once you discover them in yourself (and they ARE waiting for you to do so) you, too, will be able to utilize these principles to accomplish the very same things. Exactly as scientists apply knowledge gleaned from ‘previously undiscovered’ ways of looking at the Universe.

Except you don't even have to be a scientist to do these things. You just have to understand, know, practice, and APPLY the right principles. The accomplishment of miracles is based on unchangeable principles, too.

Makes eminently good sense to me and even sounds like fun!

What do you think?

Jesus did walk on water. He is God so therefore he can do anything. It was a miracle that Peter was able to walk on water to Jesus. But notice, as soon as Peter's eyes left Jesus and he looked away, he fell. God is the only one and true God so He can preform mircales.

Water to Wine? Again, Jesus is God so He CAN preform miracles. All through the New Testament, Jesus preforms miracles: John 4:46-54, John 5:1-17, John 6:1-21,John 9:1-41, John 11:38-44.....etc.

There are countless miracles that Jesus preformed, He even blessed some of His disciples and gave them the power to preform certain miracles.

To answer your question, turning water into wine, I cannot prove how Jesus was able to turn the water into wine....some scientific process thing....etc. I'll say it again: Jesus is God so therefore He can do as He pleases.

I think there are a lot of scientific principles that we havent figure out yet.

Just becasue it was called a miracle doesnt mean it cant scientifically be explained.

Miracles are just things that happened at the direction of the power of God. They can still be a miracle and have scientific explanations. We dont know all the science yet, but God does.

nice- now if you can just figure out how he did that whole water to wine, and raising Lazarus from the dead thing.

As to the lie for public notice concept... what about the hundreds of people who witnessed the miracles of Jesus and testified to this end? Were they part of a broad conspiracy too? and how did all this public notice work out for his followers anyway? Oh yeah, death and lives spent in prison cells with no windows... Somehow I doubt that being in the public eye was their goal.

I think one can go to extremes in conspiracy theories.
Jesus did so many spectacular things, if they were all hoaxes, surely he would have tripped up on one of them.

lol. or his followers lied to gain public notice. wouldnt be far fetched for a human to lie about an event so that they either gain more followers, or gain more fame.

*shrug*
