I vote for good old coconut oil, it's very healing. Your scalp is probably very dry and flaky (by the way .. this does not necessarily mean it is dandruff).
It's normal for several hairs to fall out on a regular basis, so I don't think you need to be worried about hair loss because one or two fall out.
Also .. if you have changed your shampoo recently, it could be an allergic reaction to that.

It could b dandruff or psoriasis or another head disease, maybe u should check a doctor, or u can do like me and jus keep usin everythin dat says ' for dandruff', i don't kno how 2 cure it, if i did i'd b sayin i don't have dandruff, u can use OTC dandruff shampoos or u can go 2 a doctor so they can prescrib somethin but sometime ur hair gets used 2 these products and they stop workin(like with mine). But hair isn't supposed 2 fall out with dandruff( not 2 my knowledge at least) so mayb it's psoriasis or somethin serious, i would check a doctor, bcuz d hair is fallin out when u scratch, i hope it's not somethin serious, dat can b ver stressful, oh as i say stressful, it can b stress, takin a toll on ur scalp and hair, so relax and if ur hair is still fallin an ur scalp is itchin then definitely go 2 d doctor preferably a dermatologist.

RE:
Why does my head itch often?
Now a days my head (the area covered by hair) itches often. I have not applied oil for a long time. What to do about it? after scratching one/two hair(s) fall. I think this is not due to lice. How can this be cured?

It could be cradle cap, habit, or an allergy: Try Dettinox, a shampoo especially designed for cradle cap, I found this extremely effective... much better than Olive oil or baby oil. My babies (3) all had this problem and Dettinox cured it within 2 weeks. After this move on to a mild baby bath... you shouldn't need "proper shampoo" at this age. Also make sure you are using a non bio(Fairy is very good) washing powder. Keep her finger nails very short. Get her bathed and ready for bed well before the exhausted period. I never found that scratch mits/gloves stayed on, but found longish socks placed under the baby grow would stay on!! Make sure they are bigger than she would usually wear so they are not tight enough to restrict the blood flow. Having tried all of the above, if there is still a problem consult your doctor/ health visitor as food/ milk allergies/ intolerance/ Coeliac disease can cause itchiness. Her stools could also be an indicator of this. Hope you sort this out quickly xxxx

You must have developed dandruff due to dried and deadskin layer peeling off. Start applying any good hair oil. You can mix mahabringaraj and awla oil in equal proportion and apply.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common, inflammatory skin condition that causes flaky, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas such as the scalp or inside the ear. It can occur with or without reddened skin.

I had the same deal, but almost severe. I used all kinds of shampoos, even prescription. But a derm. recently gave me an Rx for Temovate- it's a liquid you squirt on your scalp at bedtime. It is terribly expensive, even after insurance, but it cleared me up. Itching skin is usually due to a fungus, so you have to find a medicine to clear it up.

Could be dandruff, or just the idea that your scalp is use to the oil so that it produces more to make up for it.
