My Dad was a salesman (good one) for over 40 years. He is very smart, but has real bad hearing and needs ideas on what kind of a job he can do to supplement his social security. He drives doctors to clinics now for a security company but hates it 'cause it is so boring and only pays $8.50/hour. Any ideas that are not sarcastic would be appreciated.

Consulting by email for whatever he sold. Good sales people know their product better than most people so are a good source for people looking to buy.
For example if he sold farm equipment he might be able to advise farmers as a buyers agent not a salesman. He could do most in email or snail mail.

My father works at a green house. Taking care of plants. Selling the products. Something like that may work for him.
Maybe even a book store.
