We as Americans need to quit looking at color and start looking at the truth.I am not sure of all the facts and I am not saying race isn't a factor here. But from what I can see and hear there is an injustice being comitted here and that should cause all of us to be concerned no matter what race, religion or culture we come from. Equality and justice for all is what America is supposed to be about.Making it a racial issue rather than an injustice will only produce division, hatred, and more racisim at best.Try and look at this without color and then we all will see the truth.
" And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Jesus

It is a combination of both, too many people with too many issues to get the story straight. Too many agendas on both sides of this incident, two crimes were committed, everybody overreacted, now it's a political and racial mess. To figure this out we are going to have to separate the incidents, the nooses on the tree was a hate crime and is a separate issue. The assault by six blacks on a white in response was also a hate crime and both should be prosecuted as such. The folks who are pushing this into the national spotlight have agendas of their own. We live in a beautiful multi-racial country and just like every other place on the planet , we have our issues to deal with. The problem is that way too many people want to stir up controversy instead of finding ways to heal the rifts in our society.I have the answer, we all need to be open and honest about thsese issues and resolve them peacefuly . We can decide to live in peace and harmony and agree to act right and do it. Let the haters hate, the rest of us need to show our gumption and stand up for the truth.

So, I see racism rears it's ugly head again in this forum. Shame Shame FYI - It WAS about race. EVERYONE there admits to it. A noose is a non verbal threat. If there was nothing wrong with the nooses, then explain why the principal wanted to expel those students responsible, but the school administration wouldn't allow it? There weren't even given any kind of charges, just IN SCHOOL suspension. It was all handled VERY poorly. BOTH sides are at fault. The school had a responsibility from the start to make sure no further problems happened. AND the ''near-fatal'' beating wasn't the first fight about this. The fact is that the rulings have been overturned, yet one young man still sits in jail. THAT is against the law. If he were white, he would have been set free. Furthermore....it was Louisiana, folks. It's a very racist state. I'm from Texas, even people here know that.

Race is a component. But it's not about black vs. white, but black justice vs. white justice.
Phoenix, no one is saying these kids shouldn't be punished for beating the other kid up, but they are being prosecuted as adults for attempted murder (among other things) where the deadly weapon in question is a tennis shoe. This, after an incident where a group of white students were not punished for hanging a noose in a tree and telling black students they couldn't sit underneath it. Those white students were not even given detention for their acts when it could have been prosecuted as a race crime. It is a question of inequality in the judicial system. That's why the Bar Assoc. is getting involved.

My answer is yes, however, I like what you and aaron p had to say.
If my kids were involved in hanging nooses or any racist activity, It's possible there would be assault and battery on a teenagers backside. Then driving, face book, and cell phone privileges out the window. And what ever else I could think of at the time.

I don't particularly see the injustice. These kids attacked someone and they are being prosecuted for it. Where is the injustice?
Like the prosecuting attorney's office, I'm not sure what the kids who hung the nooses would be charged with, so I can understand there not being a charge involved with that incident.
If there were a valid case of injustice, it would be injustice BECAUSE of race, so race would still be the key issue. Call it one big racial injustice.

I think the school adminstrator's should bear some responsibility for this situation. They nutured the envrionment by their indifference. This should be about justice, not race. But I do think there is a difference between white justice vs black justice. This should not be.

Well here we are at the point that I made in one of the other questions you asked.... "Remember that as society retreats from KNOWLEDGE, that fear & suspicion grow. (Like weeds in an untended garden) The end result being the degradtion to hatred, poverty, predudice, and ultimately ending is slavery & superstition.
As C. Swindoll said, "I get a little FEARFUL over the ignorance that sweeps our television-addicted generation-the attitude that if someone doesn't do it for me, I'm not interested....of if someone doesn't think for me, I am not desirous of learning for myself. Ignorance is NOT bliss!!"
This nation is headed for disaster. Just as the Lord says, "My people perish for LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!"
The only way to "undo" fear is to LEARN that fear is the emotion that takes control when there is an "unknown element" at work."'
The racial element is only a portion of the way that LACK of knowledge is growing in this Country. More & more people are becoming engrossed in the issues that are really not a part of the problem, meaning we have to get our children to LEARN about WHY we are here on this planet in the first place, that we all did NOT come "from goo to you by way of the zoo!" We DO have a Creator, He does expect us to become knowledgable, not only of Him, but of each other.
We have removed Christ & the teachings about Him from our schools, and we are working at removing any mention of our Lord from all public arenas & then we WONDER why people are becoming more violent? more predudice? more ignorant? and more hateful...etc etc..?!
In this Once Great Country, we centered our lives, and our behavior around a "Higher Authority" The Lord God, Jesus Christ. His was the "Last Word" on all subjects. Now all we have boiled it down to is "who's OPINION really counts?"
****sigh*** and can we REALLY think that a lack of education, and a lack of morals (that come from the Bible itself) will bring this Country back to it once great state? Personally..I think not.

Good point. When will we rise above racism?
Agreed, this is a plain old issue of equality before the court of law.
That is why Lady Liberty wears a mask, so she does not go by skin colour!!!

I have to agree with Phoenix Ablaze's answer. I guess you can address that issue as an injustice if you feel an injustice was done.
