You should hire an attorney. Virginia just passed a new law where residents convicted of reckless driving receive additional taxes for the next three or four years. You would be paying the cost of a semester of tuition if you are convicted of reckless driving.

Hire an attorney. See if the charge can be plead down to a lesser speeding charge.

Good luck!

Reckless driving is often defined as a mental state in which the driver displays a wanton disregard for the rules of the road; the driver often misjudges common driving procedures, often causing accidents and other damages. Reckless driving has been studied by psychologists who found that reckless drivers score high in risk-taking personality traits. However, no one cause can be assigned to this state. Reckless driving, whether the charge is based on excessive speed or results from an accident, is a crime in Virginia. There are numerous out of state drivers and some Virginia drivers who are shocked to learn traveling on a highway at 81 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone may be charged as reckless driving.

ask a lawyer. the police officials can sit down a block away and gauge your speed on how briskly you come back as a lot as a quit signal and grant you with a fee ticket. (handed off to my son) you'll want a lawyer to barter your case for a lesser charge. sturdy success to you.
