Can anyone tell me how much I should tip a hairstylist if my bill is say $70.00?

I tip between 15-20%, so if your bill is $70, so I would tip $10-15. Also take into consideration what you had done. 15-20% is adequate if you got a haircut or basic color, but if you had something more time-consuming like highlights, double-process color, or a thermal straightening treatment, tip an extra 5-10% on top of that. I like to tip a bit more if I also received a scalp massage or if I think the stylist did an excellent job.

Unless she did a ghastly job, I'd tip somewhere between 10-15%. If she is good friend, you have known her for a while, she did an exceptionally good job, I'd tip closer to 20%. But mostly, you should tip however much you feel is appropriate.

I treat it like tipping at a restaurant - 10-20%, depending on how happy I am with the service (although I have been to places that I haven't bothered or have decided not to tip at all).

Tip her on what you think its worth. Depends on how happy you are with her job. Unless she does an aweful job make sure you tip her. That dont make much and hour and live off tips.
