John 5:37 Also, the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. YOU have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his figure; 38 and YOU do not have his word remaining in YOU, because the very one whom he dispatched YOU do not believe.

Jesus said that he and his Father were in union. Not that he was the Father. John 14:9 Jesus said to him: “Have I been with YOU men so long a time, and yet, Philip, you have not come to know me? He that has seen me has seen the Father [also]. How is it you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in union with the Father and the Father is in union with me? The things I say to YOU men I do not speak of my own originality; but the Father who remains in union with me is doing his works. 11 Believe me that I am in union with the Father and the Father is in union with me; otherwise, believe on account of the works themselves.

Jesus is not God..he is the only BEGOTTEN son, God's first creation.
When Jesus was about to be nailed to the torture stake, did he pray to himself for help? NO, he prayed to his father, Jehovah God!
Edited to add: Those who use the "doesnt the Bible say they're one?" Well they are one just like my son and myself are one...we are one in unity, we are one in thought, if you see my son, you see me because he represents all my love for him. But we're not the same person!

What does the Bible say. At John 10:36, Jesus called himself God's Son, NOT God himself.
At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the only true God. Jesus also said his Father was greater than he was, and that there were things that the Father knew that he did NOT know. John 17:3; Matt. 24:36. So, if Jesus were God, why would he call someone else the only true God? And HOW could he be greater than himself and know more than himself?
Thus are the absurdities when one does not stick with the truth that comes from the Bible.

John 14:9 Many faiths try to use this scripture to prove the trinity doctrine. But the question remains When a man and woman get married, they are said to have formed the 'union' of the marriage arrangement. Are they two separate people or are they now one person? Of course they are two separate people they are a union in that -they have agreeded to be a 'couple' yet they are in agreement as to being married, on what sort of life they will have together, how many children they will have and how they will be raised.
In this manner they are in "union" they are separate, yet they have the same hopes, dreams. Yet they are separate.

This always brings up many questions as to weather Jesus and God are one and the same. They are not. How can I send myself to go somewhere? Someone has to do the sending. Jesus didn't decide one day to come to earth, or the Bible would say that. God sent him. (Where was the 3rd godhead in all of this?)That one was Jehovah God Himself, that ''sent'' Jesus, the Son. At John 14:28, 20:17; 1 Corin. 11:3 we see that the head of the Christ is Jehovah. Many people don't want to see it or admit to it that their preacher is wrong. We must go by what the Bible says, after all, it's Jehovah God's Word. Man's words are false.
For those of you that keep saying that God and Jesus are one, that is, they have the same goal for mankind, as in they think alike, of one mind, not one and the same being.

Easy question. I also respond with a verse.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus IS the Fathers Word made human.
Many other verses show clearly who the Son of God is.

The other to check but less easily excerpted is "The Definition of the Council of Chalcedon (451 A.D)"

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
To the poster below me. What about the following verses? Why did the Jews seek to stone Jesus? Because He used the name of God "I am" to refer to himself. The Jews knew what He meant when He said that. He meant He was and is God and thus they sought to stone Him.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Joh 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Jason w - would you mind telling me which version of the Bible you are using for those scripture quotes? It is not KJV. The KJV reads as follows which makes it clear Christ is in the Father and the Father in Him. Not that they are in union but that they are one.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

I seem to recall a passage in The Gospel according to John (I think it's in chapter 8) where Jesus says: "The Father and I are one."
