Rather than even paying attention to an argument from a Christian, atheists just reject and ignore an argument simply because it's coming from a Christian. That is immature and it shows weakness in your beliefs (or lack of beliefs). You are so stubborn and bigoted against Christianity, you won't even entertain a Christian argument.
You can create straw man arguments for Christianity and then easily refute them, but you cannot refute the real arguments that are presented.
Is it because you know that if you actually gave it some thought instead of ridiculing it, that you would not be able to be refute it and you'd have no choice but to accept Christ? What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of being confronted with the truth of the Lord?

LOL, no. I entertained religious argument, since when I was a child. I kept myself from being brain-washed. There is NO proof that Christianity is right or true.
"Are you afraid of being confronted with the truth of the Lord?" -There is no truth concerning any god.

You FAIL.\

"You can create straw man arguments for Christianity and then easily refute them, but you cannot refute the real arguments that are presented. " _I've never heard a REAL argument.

"Is it because you know that if you actually gave it some thought instead of ridiculing it, that you would not be able to be refute it and you'd have no choice but to accept Christ? "
That is just dumb. You'd have to remove my brain. Thoughts and rationality always seem to get in the way of blind belief.

I pay attention to all Christian arguments I am confronted with. I want to understand why you believe what you believe. I can easily refute every argument I've ever heard. I have a better questions. Why don't Christian's pay attention to atheist arguments? Why do the choose to ignore simple logic and common sense. I was raised Roman Catholic. I know all about the religion and the beliefs. I just never believed it myself. How many atheists do you see trying to push our views on you? How many atheists choose to resort to insults to try to get your point across? I bet the answer to both of these is none.

No, atheists DO listen to the arguments. They'll even credit the few that make sense. But so many Christian apologists have such trouble making their cases that they simply accuse atheists of being stubborn and demand thay they accept the "truth". After a few dozen incidents, some atheists get tired and snarky from hearing the same old wobbly arguments. (That's why there's a virtual drinking game in this section.)

I believe that it is impossible for a person to be saved in ignorance. If a person listens then it would require that they act on how they feel. Many people are very comfortable with the life they live and do not want to listen because it would interrupt the lifestyle they are now living and interrupting the happy life they have.

The only problem with this way of thinking is by not listening they are actually denying blessings that only come through obedience to commandments. A person who does not live these commandments cannot understand the blessing no matter how hard they argue. You have to live the commandments in order to get the blessing associated with it.

Hope that makes sense.

Now you understand what the Atheists have been saying to Christians all this time! You Are Both Saying The Same Thing!!! Maybe Try Listening To Each Other!! I have no specific religion and I'm open to any of them. I just take the best aspects of any religion and apply it to my life. Think about what you are saying. Could what you are saying be mirroring what other people are saying? I think so :) Just accept everyone! Accept Everything. Don't try to convert anyone just believe what you believe and be sure it's right. You don't need to convince anyone but yourself. And, if you're trying to convince other people then you're trying to convince yourself at the same time. If you truely belive it then you don't need to make anyone else believe it.

I am a recovering Christian, so don't even get me started. Christianity has no argument as far as I see it. You have no proof of anything you claim and yet you believe having no evidence (or faith) IS your evidence. It is ridiculous.

#2: Atheists do not have beliefs. They know there is no god. You cannot disprove something that does not exists so, the burden of proof falls on you to support your claim by backing it up with evidence. If god did exists, it should not be that hard to find a shred of proof right?

What is the truth of the Lord, anyway?

So many religious folks seem to take the words in the Bible and other scripture literally, living their lives by this book which over the years has been edited and handed down by human hands, and thereby subject to their own agendas and corruption.

Wouldn't you rather live by the word of God as directly conveyed to you, than following what is essentially an instruction manual which no one whom you know the true character of has written?

I would. If God doesn't want me to engage in oral sex, for example, he / she / it had better say so, because I'm not going to sacrifice a tremendously pleasurable experience because someone has interpreted some scripture as reason to make such activity illegal.

Do you generalise because you're afraid that if you actually take a look at the arguments of individual atheists, you might see some truth in them, or see that some of them have perfectly valid reasons for not believing in God, or have levels of respect for Christians according to the level of respect the Christians have for them? Is that it? Do I have you figured?

A shorter answer would be "No", since if atheists had any doubt at all that God didn't exist, you wouldn't be able to put them in your little atheist box, because they would be agnostic.

I have seen that most atheists are very open to hearing what Christians have to say. They ridicule the obviously bad arguments. Maybe you are just making a lot of bad arguments that you think are good.

Christianity creates it's own straw men. Will you do the reverse and actually listen to US with as much equality that you demand FROM us? Or are you afraid of being confronted with the truth of atheism? Think you may be swayed?
