How can i speed up Pearl Barley!?!?

Hi, I'm looking to cook a soup using Whitworths soup mix. . it says soak for 12 hours,can i do it any faster? it has Pearl Barley as the main ingrediant! I'm looking to make soup tonight, so i can't wait for 12 hours!! eep! Please help!

I made beef barley soup last week and cooked the dried pearl barley in water for 45 minutes and put it in the soup.

Try cooking it in a pressure cooker.

make it in your crock pot or slow cooker.
4 - 6 hrs.
