lol wow a lot of people "know their guns!" lol .50 desert eagle??? lol as a side arm? there are a few nice revolvers out there that make for a good side arm. If you are going for a side arm go for taurus revolvers. Side arm equals back up. You want it to be small and the best way to conceal carry a side arm is in a ankle holster. If you want something a little bigger either go for a glock 30 in a .45 or an HK p2000 SK in a .40.

Pistol...

NOUN: A firearm designed to be held and fired with one hand.

You should be asking which is better, a revolver or semi-automatic pistol.

A revolver traditionally has only five to six rounds available before needing to reload whereas a semi-automatic pistol will carry anywhere from seven to fifteen rounds.

My personal thought is...If you have to reload...it's time to retreat!

Either a .50 cal Desert Eagle or a 12 gauge slug pistol.

it really depends on the person and the size of their hands.

I like the glock but I have to use one with a smaller grip.

Your best bet is to go to a fireing range and rent their guns and have them work with you and try them out. Then take a class this way you will know how to handle, care and use one without the chance of an accident and you will find one that you are comfortable with and will work best for you.

I dont know about side weapon, but I personally prefer the colt 45. I dont like the 9mm, it has too much kickback. I didnt' like the .22 caliber, not enough kick. The 45 is my favorite.

40 cal.
It's small enough to conceal easily and it's more powerfull than a 9mm. Also, it holds 10 rounds.
