alcohol is a depressant, so if you're tense, and stressed out from the day, a drink can relax you temporarily.

even so,it's not a good idea to use alcohol for stress relief all of the time.. try exercise.

because theres a limited amount of the feel good hormones.
Ask any crack smoker the first blast is by far the best. That's when the gate is released and the built up endorphins come flooding out.

BTW alcolhol doesn't do that for everybody so you have to be extra vigalent and also realize there's a host of healthy ways to release those feel good chemicals in a much healthier fashion- such as exercise or even helping others unselfishly

The answer is endorphins. When you drink alcohol then the alcohol has a chemical reaction with your body and that releases the endorphins. These endorphins cause you to feel good, they lower inhibitions, and impair vision and coordination. That is why you are not supposed to drive while drunk. These endorphins eventually wear off leaving you with an low endorphin count in your body. The low endorphin count can sometimes cause headaches and nausea.
