I have no pictures on my bathroom but I'd be happy to share my decorating idea's with you, I've just renovated one bathroom and built another. I removed the tub in the first floor bathroom and replaced it with a standing shower. On the side of the shower is the toilet, and a pedestal sink is located right in the door. The walls are half wainscoting, a little above 3 ft. The wainscoting is painted pewter brown. Above the wainscoting is Heron plume (an off white). I've hung large framed posters, replica's of African tourism, one huge elephant and the other two giraffes. A large banana leaf plant is situated by the sink to catch the sunlight from a large window with a rolling bamboo shade. A large mirror hangs over the sink and a ceiling light that mimics the moon hangs from the ceiling. No storage in that room. The floor is tiled in a very natural looking tile called African Verde. It's a great look, if I do say so myself. The bathroom we just put in has beige walls, white trim and a beautiful claw foot slipper tub. My husband loves to soak. Again a pedestal tub and the toilet is behind the door so that when you open the door it isn't seen. The ceilings are angled and there is a large window that overlooks our barn and pony. Wood floor, small accent table with shelves hold towels and other items. The room is lite with two wall sconces and a small mosaic table holds a bamboo plant.

Not going to suggest a particular "theme" (not every room needs a theme!) but the easiest way to decorate any room is to find a fabric element (for a bathroom, that would be shower-curtain, rug, towels, and/or window-treatment) that you LOVE and build the rest of the decor from there. Always easier to coordinate a paint-color to another element than to pick the paint first. And if you start the project without a specific "theme" in mind, you'll have an easier time finding that first item that sets the tone for the rest of the space.

I have designed in my bathroom.Lighting requirement of a bathroom is slightly different than other portions of a house. It needs visibility but not like the reading room or like the living room, obviously. In case you want to light a larger bathroom you can avail two options:

• You may install two wall mounted scones in two different parts like one should be placed at the top of the washroom basis
• The second one should be placed near the wash area so that the shower area remains well lighted. Alternatively, you can install two sconces at the both sides of the vanity so that you can use them alternatively.

Sorry no pics, but I did palm trees and have a bamboo shade in the window. It looks topical. I like it.

Well, as a GUY... I simply bought the color-coordinated towels, wash-cloth, and bath-mat. Then I searched for a reasonably matching shower curtain.

That was it... to me the Bathroom is a place to shower, shave, wash my hands, brush my teeth, and "conduct nature's business" !!

I keep it spotless, but it's not a "display room" to me. I guess my THEME is "functional"
