I've heard so many different things from Christians concerning their view, especially when it comes to the role of Jesus...
These are some of the views of God/Jesus i've gotton from Christians:
-That Jesus is God
-That Jesus is not God, but is his begotton son
-That Jesus is both the father and son (Trinity concept)
-I've presonally known a few Christians that told me the trinity concept is blasphemy. They went to a unitarian church...
It makes me wonder how Christians feel about the VASTLY different views of God. I mean, of course we're human and so we interpret things differently, but don't you guys think when it comes to the definition of our God there should be basic principals that ALL Christians should agree on??
It confuses me that two people can say they are both Christians, but one is saying Jesus is God, and the other is saying, i don't know what you're talking about, Jesus isn't MY God, only God is...
Shouldn't that be like a basic agreement in your beliefs??

Cool Answers guys!
Although i should have clarified my question. I wasn't really asking which one you all personally believed was true. I moreso wanted to know how you felt about other Christians that believe the opposite of what you believe, yet still call themselves Christian... thats basically what i wanted to know.

I agree with you. There are waaayyy too many disagreements between Christians about the role of Jesus. Kind of unsettling...
It seems like Christians should be calling each other out to get down to the truth, because if you're saying different people are God, clearly you both shouldn't be calling yourselves Christians. Someone's right, someone's wrong. It needs to be figured out, not ignored...

This reminds me of a story I've heard. An old drunk was sitting on a river bank watching a preacher baptize people by submerging them. The drunk walked out into the river a way for a better view when the preacher ran over to him and asked, son , have you found Jesus? The drunk replied NO!!
The preacher grabbed him and held him under water for a few seconds. Pulling him up he asked again, son ,have you found Jesus, and the drunk replied NO!! Again the preacher submerged him a little longer and asked again, son , have you found Jesus, the drunk replied NO!! A third time the preacher submerged him and asked, son, have you found Jesus yet? The drunk replied NO, but are you sure this is where he fell in?
Religion is a personal think that is difficult to debate. All you can do is read and form your own conclusions. Good luck

Jesus and GOD are one and the same. Jesus is GODs human form here on earth. The trinity is true, GOD the Father, GOD the Son and GOD the Holy Spirit. If you read the Bible it will state very clearly that they are all the same. Jesus came to earth to pay the debt of our sin, without that there would be no hope for the human race. I wish I could explain it better. I am at work and do not have my Bible with me and can't remember the Scriptures off the top of my head. Just remember that it all boils down to faith and trust in GOD. Believe in HIM and you shall be saved.

well the Bible tells it all
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.
Joh 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth.
Joh 15:23 He who hates Me hates My Father also.
Joh 14:9 Jesus said to him, Have I been with you such a long time and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. And how do you say, Show us the Father?
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
This is why Christians that says Jesus is God says it..

you are right there are basics that must be believed to be called a Christian problem is each church makes them up for themselves and some dont check the scriptures to see if their interpretations are correct or not
for the obvious one that says Jesus is God and the other Jesus is not God - only one can be right - which one - check your Bible - that should be where the basics come from - but sometimes people dont follow that either and confuse a lot of people

It's pretty simple really. Jesus never stated that he was God, not once. In fact when quoting from the book of Isaiah he said "I have made YOUR name known and will make it known"......so basically anything other than the teachings of Jesus himself would be false. Therefore you have true Christians and false Christians the key is finding the the Christians that are following the Christs' example the closest, because as humans we fall very short of Jesus himself but as an organization it is possible...put it this way a perfect organization made up of imperfect individuals.

It is confusing isn't it? That is why you should be looking to God for clarification and reading His word. Let Him answer your questions. He will if you give him the chance. To answer the question, It bothers me because some of the law oriented folks chase people away from God more than anything else. I believe Christ wants us to have relationships with people not shove bibles in their faces. They learn what being christian is from what they see us doing in our own lives and lets face it I have seen some of my brothers and sisters do some cruel and mean things on this site and got the reactions they should have gotten. We are supposed to love and serve everyone and show them Gods love not say hateful things that make them not want to know God. I mean who wants to find out about something that so obviously made that person an A** H***.?It is confusing to nonbelivers I understand but read 2 Timothy it tells you how to spot a person who is really following Christ. I try to understand the others, they probably really believe they are doing the right thing, and pray they get their eyes opened.

The Most Holy Trinity
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit! Each is God, not One is less God than another: three Persons, one God, one Being, one Divine Essence.

Yes, it must be confusing for you.
There should be a basic agreement in Christian beliefs.
SEE JOHN 3:16.
But in my opinion, (and we all have one), Lucifer himself has seen to it that the church divides against itself. (Lucifer is the deceiver.) Basic biblical principles explain that Jesus is the Word. The Word is God. So they are one in the same. The Holy Spirit is God's way of communicating with His people.
I'd say that you should be able to find full and complete truth in the Holy Bible. And once you have read it, all of your questions should be answered.
Yes, a basic agreement should be established. But it sounds like you found where deception lies. And lies. And lies.
God bless. Good luck in your quest to figure out truth from absolute confusion.

Well, when you say Christian, you have to remember that not all Christians are the same. You have Catholics, Protestants, Lutheran's, Jehovah Wittiness and many more that call themselves Christians. And they all have different doctrines at their church's and beliefs teach. That why you get different answers about Jesus when you ask.
