I am looking for a church that I can go to that has the same type of preaching like Joel Osteen. I have been to a few churches where I just didn't feel like it was a good fit. I live in New Castle county Delaware if anyone in this area knows of a good one they can recommend. Thanks in advance!

Please don't say anything negative. I won't threaten to report you, but please, just be nice.

In the past I had the same dilema and I turned to God. Beings I wasn't very religious, it seemed awkward. I hadn't been in church in probably 10 years but I knew in my heart that it was time to go back. The first sermon I attended they spoke too all new members saying that there was a reason that we had chose this church, whether flipping through a phone book or passing by. I instantly fell in love w/the church and knew I had made the right choice.

There are tons of churches where I live and it can be difficult to figure out which is best for you unless you attend them (and of course pray about it.) You could always go by word of mouth, but if you aren't familiar w/the area, that may be difficult. I hear Joel Osteen is a very inspirational speaker, but I have yet to visit his church; however, I know MANY people that attend Lakewood weeekly. Best of luck in your search!!

I have had the same problem. However, I will not give up looking. There is a church out there for you but, it takes a lot of visiting around to locate a church where you feel comfortable. Pray that God will direct your path to the church HE wants you to be in!

It's not as much about finding a church that you "like" as it is about finding a Church that was founded by Jesus and has the Authority of His teaching and Apostolic succession - and then changing your life to fit that Church rather than changing a church to fit your life.

Obviously, I would recommend your local Catholic parish.

Perhaps you might write Mr. Osteen.
The next time you see his book, see if there's a way to communicate with like-minded people.
Good luck, and be with Christ.

Sometimes it helps to not just go to the service but to talk to the church leaders, too. Or sometimes the churches will have classes that discuss more of the fundamentals of their religion and you are more than likely welcome to attend any of those kind of classes.

if I were you I would go to a church that would make me fell comfortable. I would go someplace that I know I will be able to learn and find what I am looking for.

First, find out what church is really ABOUT.
Second, armed with that information, use it to determine what churches are around that are actually DOING what they should.
Church is about Jesus, not man.
Following God is about dieing to yourself, not making a better you.
Take care.
