When a pasavist uprising occurs it is usually religion or belief centered as with these monks, Gandhi, Nelson Mandella, Martin Luther King, Jesus, Buddha and others. What is your thinking about passive resistance to oppression? Will God deliver the people of Burma as He did Moses out of Egypt? Your thinking please?

The monks made a mistake - they are not supposed to interfere like they do. they compromise their own practise by doing what they do there. The consequenses are theirs alone and should not be attended to.

Boy, won't those Buddhist monks be surprised when the God of the Hebrews shows up to deliver them from opression and slavery in Egypt.

"But sir, we're not in Egypt. We've never been in Egypt."
"Oh, sorry, my mistake."
"While you're here, YHWH, could you take care of the oppressive military junta?"
"Uh, no, sorry, I gotta make sure that Jon Kitna gets another concussion, then miraculously heal him. Good luck with this whole peace and freedom thing, though."

I hope he will. It's hard to say. Ceacescu killed people trying to get freedom in Romania, weeks later he was overthrown and executed. The Chinese wiped out the students in Tiananmen square, and boycotts of china ended when the europeans started falling over each other to invest there. Hopefully the burmese military will be overthrown, but I'm sure tiananmen sq. has them thinking they'll get away with this.
