There are different combustion technologies that can be used to improve the combustion efficiency (resulting in more CO2 and water and less of other gases). If you're looking to reduce total emissions including CO2, about the only thing I can think of is venting the gas through something like a water/amine scrubber to remove some of the gases.

Many corporations use the heat from burning waste to heat their factories.

Many times burning waste products are used to turn water to steam. The steam is used for heating and/or an energy source.
