We've been dating for a year and 2 months now and everyone other month or so he tells me he imagines himself being single. He imagines that he won't be held back from his music or going to grad school. But i really don't think i'm holding him back from any of that....in fact i've encouraged him to continue to work at both. I don't know if it's typical for men to want to break up and be single every once in a while or if REALLY wants to end it, but is afraid to hurt me. We talked about it yesterday and he told me it was just thoughts, and he really wants to be with me..... it just feels like this happens alot. Any advice?

Ok here goes, My best advice on this would be move on. My ex just sort of did the same thing to me. I love him with all my heart. But when one person in the relationship keeps having the same doubt over and over again. Eventually, he's just going to break your heart. Save yourself some of the hurt and get out now. It doesn't have to be a messy break up. You can always let him know that once he does finally know what he truly wants to let you know. Even though by then you may have moved on and realized that he wasn't the one for you.
I know that's a hard step to take. Because if you really love someone its hard to think of living without them. But I can tell you from experience, there is no worse heart ache than thinking things are going to work out then suddenly he's positive they wont.

i think of you would be clever to pretty think of breaking up with him regardless of in case you dont do it precise away. I propose, if he says this, it extremely is adequate so you might make a determination. a guy or woman who extremely likes yet another is in no way, ever going to declare this to somebody they're relationship. Why might you except you're an entire fool and/or you will smash it off? Be clever, get going and be responsive to that there are a number of adult men obtainable who desire longterm family and a spouse for the destiny. you have no longer wasted 4 years, you have found out alot from this adventure. Here's a novel idea. How about you stop being his emotional piñata and break it off with him and for good? What he wants is to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to play away and have a good time, but also keep you sitting at home waiting for him like a good girl. Sometimes the guilt kicks in and sometimes the greed. Someone who is happy to be in a relationship does not consider calling it off every other month. I know that hurts, but you deserve someone who wants you every day of every week month in month out. You aren’t holding him back. You are letting him hold you back. Get off this hobby horse and go find a better match.

Give him some space, don't call him, and wait and see if he comes running back. When he does, let him know that if he wants to be with you, then you expect 100% committment to the relationship on his part. No more swinging both sides. And if he doesn't come running back, then you will have a great new life anyways. It's not fair of him to take emotional advantage of you like this. Take the reins in YOUR hands and make some decisions.

I dont think he knows ecactly what he wants from him self. He might have just said that cuz he didnt want to hurt your feelings. But maybe he really does want to be single na dpossibly date other women. If I were I would have a serious talk with him becuase otherwise if he dosent know your just waisting your time. good luck!

Sounds like you are being used.Keep pursuing all the things that you enjoy in your life and be your own best friend. Cultivate a lot of friendships, because you may need them if he lets the 'just thoughts' take over.

Baby girl, he DOES NOT want to be in a relationship. Its obvious. Maybe you should let him know what its like to be single and find a man for you that will appreciate the woman in you. Men are accessories, not necessities!!!! Remember that.
