it is normal. just continue taking care of it like you were told to. also the colors won't be normal until about 30 days after you got it so in a month you'll know exactly what it'll look like.

Scabbing and the peeling of a scab is completely normal for a tattoo. Just be sure that the scabs are falling off naturally and that you're not peeling them off prematurely as this can pull the ink out of your skin.
When washing your tattoo, you should just lightly be putting mild soap on it, and try to not let the water hit the tattoo directly. Try as best as possible to let the stream of water hit slightly above the tattoo and wash over it.

yeah it's normal for it to shed the top layer. I don't use lotion on my tattoos. Try Palmer's Cocoa Butter (in the tub). You Can buy it at Walmart. I got my last tattoo a month ago and I'm still using the cocoa butter!

first you should only be using A & D ointment on it... and yes... shedding of skin is normal... if you start to scap ( and a good tatoo should not scab ) DON'T pick it. if you scab then the artist went way to deep into your skin and you risk having "welts" that sometimes don't go away after some time... as far as the color goes... you won't really get to see it's true color till the healing process is complete.. usually about 10 days... congrats on the new art!!!

it's normal to peel....but stop using a loofa to wash it if you have been, just use your hand and some soap in the shower.. leave the lotion off of it for a couple days...sounds like you could be over-doing it...and don't pick at the tattoo

Yes it's very normal for tattoos to peel on the top layer. I would suggest using A & D ointment on it though.

Yeah, it's normal, but if you use bepanthen/bepanthol, you won't scab so much and it will also retain a lot more of the colour. My ex used it and he was less scabby after only a couple of days and it was comfortable.
If the colour does not retain well and isn't the colour you thought it would be, a good tattooist will redo the colour for you free of charge.

Wash it gently, and keep it moist. When it scabs over, DON'T pick the scab! Let it get plenty of air. (not sun!) The color is always going to be lighter after it starts to heal. The pigment comes out. What your tattoo is, is dyed skin.

Its healing and peeling. DO NOT put anything on a tattoo other than unscented lubriderm. Anything else can cause the ink to be pushed out of the skin.
