I have nauturally wavey hair if I let it air dry after showering. I generally then straighten it becuase I hate the crazy, frizzy wave that my hair does. But I love my hair curly, I jsut don't know how to do it myself. My ends are the frizzed out crazy things and then the curls are these weird curls that are like this shape "un" not a curl. Any tips on getting great curls? What should I use in my hair to help hold them, the somewhat good one that I get only last maybe a half hour. I want them to last me all day. Thank you

I have the same problem as you but my friends can always get my hair to curl for a relly long time . . . . If you want a whole bunch of curls the thing that my friem Em does is get a clip that you can slide open and closed and clip all your hair together at the lower back of your neck. Then using as little hair as possible (make sure you have enough curlers though and don't put like almost no hair) spray it with hair spray, one quick up and down movement whould do it, my friend uses aussie. Then leave your hair like that for like at least 20 minutes if the hotsticks are really hot. Make sure you comb out your hair before you start curling. When you take the curlers out you need to seperate them into curls the size that you want them Then spray and crunch the curls once again my friend uses aussie. Ths may not work for you because I can't always get stuff my firend does that works on my hair when she does it to worl on my hair when I do it but you can sure try to see if this will work for you . I hope that it does

Try the following to see which is best for your hair texture and length: 1. Use a good hair mouse with low alcohol content and shape your hair while wet in the curl pattern you want, and let it air dry. 2. Use electric curlers that have steam, and be sure the rollers are cold before taking them out. There are two brands I know of with steam. 3. If you have long hair and want it really curly, the oldest method of curls, from the pioneer days: cut strips of white cloth about two inches wide and twelve inches long. While your hair is wet, wrap it in sections around the strips (at least 10-12 strips), tie the ends of the cloth, and let it dry. You will have long lasting curls. 4: Use a good conditioner for frizzy hair...pantene, loreal and helene curtis all make good ones. Good luck.

Hot rollers does not work well. The curls drop as soon as you start the other side of your head.

I use the plastic snap on magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel and a bottle of setting lotion.

My hairstyle is spiral curls. The setting lotion holds the curls in longer and gives them more body. My curls last for four days until I have to add more setting lotion. Without the lotion I still have great curls but they hang down a little longer.

The key to great looking curls is conditioning. You should get your hair trimmed for damage and split ends and use a gel with extra hold, that way your hair doesn't get that hard shell look.
