I have heard about some military program that enlists you at a young age. My boyfriend is in it. He's 15, and he's already been through Navy SEAL training and training to be a firefighter. He says it's a long and complicated story about what this program does and I just want to know more about it. Can anybody tell me more?

I am not talking about ROTC just so you know. I am in ROTC and this is completely different.

SORRY BUT THERE IS NO SUCH PROGRAM

Well, I am sorry to agree with the other answerers, but that is what I have to do. There are the young marines (like the other person said), and there is the DEP program. You can't be in the DEP program before your senior year of high school. Also, you don't start training in the DEP program (except pt to get you into shape, and boning up on rank...that kind of thing). There is no program that puts a 15 year old through Navy SEAL training. Maybe he is in some kind of program like ROTC that preps for military. However it sounds like he is making some stuff up. I am sorry to tell you that, but that is just the way that it is. Maybe he is trying to impress you. Best of luck to you!

I've heard of Sea Cadets and Explorer Scout programs that provide a glimpse of Navy life, but not SEAL training. The closest thing would be Devil Pups (Young Marines?), which does provide physical training. Be very wary of someone saying that they're a SEAL - most people who claim to be SEALs aren't. The real ones tend not to make a big deal out of it.

WOW! This must be some whiz-bang kinda guy - I've heard of the delayed entry program, but this usually involves high-school seniors who want to enlist and delay their entry until graduation. Could this 15 year old boyfriend be in some kind of Reserve or Navy scout program and now in a firefighters scout program?
This boyfriend seems to think you're too stupid to understand it, or is he too stupid to be able to explain it?

Could be the Young Marines. They have summer programs, but I doubt they would be the equivalent of Navy SEAL training. And it seems strange that he apparently didn't tell you what it's called. I have to agree with the others - he's probably lying to you - but you can look at the web site and judge for yourself.

15 and gone through SEAL training? Tell your boyfriend to lay off the weed. When he gets to the part where he's a secret agent, do try to keep a straight face. I just can't.

Bull. no way in hell has he gone through BUD/s. if this isn't JROTC, it MIGHT be SeaCadets, and that is NOTHING remotely like real military training. Think Boy Scouts.. it's a service organization that teaches them discipline and teamwork, but in no way whatsoever should it be confused with actual military training.

You should go tell your boyfriend that you too are in a special program and that you have completed CIA training. Tell him you have already engaged in assignments in Istanbul, Prague, and Managua. It'll be about as true as anything he has said to you thus far.
