if they can afford 17/18 kids, than who cares, right? Besides, i don't know why they take all the heat. There are plenty of other families nowadays with that many kids. If you google it, there is a Russian family in California who have 17 kids. Nobody talks about them or gives them hell about it. My family has 14 kids (we would of had 16 kids if it wasn't for my 2 brothers passing away). 8 of us are adopted, but still. Nobody makes our lives miserable because of it. So why do you, when typing the Duggar family into google, find hundreds of websites saying how stupid and irresponsible they are. Not to mention the names they get called. I mean, leave them alone, they aren't hurting you (and don't even begin to give me that crap about how the world is overpopulated). I want you to give me one thing, just one thing, horrible in your PERSONAL life that is all messed up because of the Duggars. you can't.

Actually, the people in the US complaining about overpopulation apparently don't know how to read. Once the baby boomers start kicking off, we will approach negative replacement. Meaning, more people will be dying than being born. I think your parents rock!!!! Adopting 8 blessings, making a complete family from broken shards, your family kicks *ss!!! My own relatives criticise me for wanting more and I have three beautiful kids. 9 out of 10 people are inherently stupid. If you and I aren't stupid, that means we're going to run into18 idiots today.

People so quickly forget that not long ago it was the norm for families to have over 10 kids, I personally do not care how many kids they have, the only time I have a problem with some one having a lot of children is when they can not take care of them and depend on tax payers to do it! Other than that people need to mind their own business, if some one is popping out kids like rabbits and then have the nerve to get on welfare that is where I get pretty pissed off where are the web sites that bash those people? Oh, I forgot we can't bash people on welfare it will hurt their feelings!

I agree. As long as they can support the family, which they can, what is the problem? I like to watch the show to see how they run their family. It's like a business. I wonder if the kids get enough time with Mom and Dad, but they all seem to be well mannered and adjusted kids and young adults.

I agree with you completely providing they are working and not scrouging for all there kids of the benefit system.

My Dad was an Irish catholic and had 14 brothers and sisters no one put them down, they would have been out downfor not having loads of kids in there little town in Ireland back in the 30's. Good luck to them I hope they all live happy healthy lives.

I don't dislike them for having that many children. As long as any family isn't asking for public assistance, who am I to judge? I don't necessarily understand WHY you'd have 17 kids, but they all seem very well behaved. The only problems I have are completely superficial...Michelle's hair (yes I realize she doesn't cut it for religious reasons!) and the compulsive need to name your children with J names. Jinger? That's the worst! But to each his own!

They can have as many kids as they please. The fact that they can support them is amazing and it's their decision. You're family is the same way. You're parents are amazing people. There are alot of other couples out there who have alot of children biological and adopted. I know of one couple who has adopted 18 or more children with downs syndrome. My husband and I have decided to not have anymore biological children, but when he gets out of the Marines we have discussed adopting some.

No one I know has ever stated they don't like the Duggar family for the size of their family.

The Duggars have publicized themselves as well, due to all of the curiosity. Why fight it? They are media savvy, and good for them!

The Russian family might just be very, very private.

What I dislike is the buddy system they employ. When the youngest turns one, one of the older children is given responsibility for that child. That bothers me because kids should be allowed to have kids.
Also what's bothersome is they're working the system for all it's worth. They are considered a church which means most everything they own is a tax deduction. That's why they can afford it. If they were making money like the Russian family has to make in Cali, I'd say more power to them, but they're using the Federal Government to finance their lives. That's just a tad bit annoying.
But overall it's the buddy system that bothers me. Kids should not have to raise other kids, no matter how many you have. So if you told me that Russian family in Cali employed this same buddy system I'd be angry with them as well. I believe there's another family that TLC has showcased where they have 13 children as well and they employ that buddy method and that bothers me as well.

I personally don't resent the Duggers for having 17 children, because that certainly is a personal choice. I do however, resent how they are portrayed, all Cleaver like with everything and everyone all sugary sweet.
