Sin is transgression of the law (refer to the list of 10 commandments)

Sin is doing something without faith (that is, doing something that is questionable to your own conscience, or violating your own conscience)

Sin is ultimately rebellion against God's rightful authority. It is an attitude of selfishness, "me first".

It is going astray from God's original intention and design for us.

Sin IS punishable, but because Jesus came to earth to take the penalty for OUR sins (ie crimes against God), He made it possible for God to extend an unmerited pardon to those who would but confess and turn away from their sins, and acknowledge that Jesus died FOR them, and allow Him to be the Lord (boss) of our lives.

When we are confronted with the facts and we rebel against God's judgement, that goes beyond mere rebellion into high treason, which is punishable by death in ANY culture and society.

The penalty is hell. "A place of outer darkness, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, where the fire is never quenched, and the worm (ie the people there) never die."

A place where God and all that is good has been 100% completely removed. (Separation from God and all that is good would include such things as love, friends, light, freedom from pain, hope, et cetera.)

Sin is disobedience. Christians are forgiven of the common disobedience which is haven known another spirit called Flesh. This happens when our souls are invested in a Fleshly body. Jesus blood covers this awareness of the spirit Flesh but it does not cover the reality that we make because we know our flesh is thinking. Everyone will have a judgement day. The other type of sin is when the Holy Spirit thinks to ones spirit to make a reality and the person quenches the thought of the Holy Spirit. This is the tithe to the believers that God is thinking. I hope I helped.

right this is the version: in case you force too speedy, you will have a collision, yet that's not a punishment, this might properly be a result. If the police capture you driving too speedy and supply you a value tag, this might properly be a punishment. that is not an automated result. A result would not contain interplay - that's the organic or logical results of what you're doing. A punishment contains a guy or woman giving out the punishment. If a toddler is working interior the domicile, he might desire to probable hit something and harm himself. that would desire to be a result. If his mom stops him and promises him a day trip, that could be a punishment. outcomes are plenty simpler than punishments whilst it contains bringing self-discipline, yet outcomes are sometimes too previous due or too extreme, while punishments, whilst not virtually as useful, might properly be controlled, interrupted, or maybe placed on hiatus or maybe suspended.

Sin is basically anything that disconnects you from God and His relationship with you. Anything that makes you grow away from Him can be considered as a sin.

The penalty for all sin is eternal death which we all deserve. However, Jesus Christ already paid that punishment for us! By believing in Him, we are saved from eternal death, and therefore we should follow Him. God's continuous grace, through Jesus, provides forgiveness for our sins and gives us the choice to live "holy" life.

To transgress the law = sin. The penalty for sin is the second death, which means the death of the soul. However, after you repent of sin, God blots it out. Murder and rape are sins that are not forgivable in the flesh. God wants those folks despatched to Him. In my opinion, the victim will be standing right beside Him.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4

The Law is the Ten Commandments.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

See: Commandments, Ten (pretty sure Google's up on that one).
Punishment for sin? Hmmmm...separation from Love and G-d's grace until reconciliation brought by sincere penance.

Sin is doing whatever pisses God off. Sin's punishment is death--Hell--which is listening to contemporary country music for all eternity, or at least 12 hours at a time. That must make my work hell.

Everything that separates you form God and from God's will for your life is a sin. However, God forgives all the sins you give Him. : )
