Catholics follow the teachings of Christ as proclaimed by the apostles and preserved by the Catholic Church for almost 2000 years.
Christians include Catholics and others to claim Christ as their savior.
Protestants follow the teachings of various men, who interpret the Bible (Luther, Calvin, etc.)

What odd answers. They are both Christians. The Catholic faith was the predominate Church for 1200 to 1500 years after the death of Jesus. The Catholic Church put together structure and teachings. This church did many good and bad things... just like any other institution. Around 1500 AD Martin Luther took issue with some of the teachings of the church and Martin Luther protested that some things were not biblical. The church disagreed with him and Martin continued to protest. The historical time was right for a break from the Church. Those protestors became know as Protestants. They are ones who protested against the Catholic Church.
There remains a division between the two "sects" of Christianity. There are still the Catholics (who even have their own divisionos) and there are the Protestants. Those who believe much of the same core dogma but disagree on issues such as celibate priests, and diety of Mary, and I am sure many other points.

None, they each worship a trinity, yet Jesus said: My Father or Jehovah, that name was in the original Biblical text over 7000 times, Joh 17:6, 26 ; Joh 5:43 : Joh 12:12,13,28
they believe in a "trinity". They believe in the 'immortality of the soul', man is a soul, Genesis 2:7, 1Corinthians 15:45, Acts 27:37
Animals also called souls, Numbers 31:28, Revelation 16:3, Leviticus 24:18, Soul has blood, eats, can die, Jeremiah 2:34, Leveticus 7:18, Ezekiel 18:4.
They believe in hellfire, [ Hades, Sheol] Not a literal place of firey torment, suffering Job prayed to go there, Job 14:13,
A place of inactivity, Psalms 6:5: Ecclesiates 9:10: Isiah 38: 18,19. They use images, no image of Jehovah is possible, i John 4:12; Isiah 40:18; Isiah 46: 5; Acts 17:29.

Catholics and Protestants are both Christians but the Catholics are much less annoying than the Protestants. The Protestants almost always make me want to smack them in the face.

Christians are the general term, and Catholics and Protestants are different types them. Like dog is a general term, but then you have retrievers and labs etc.
They differ in small believes, but agree that Jesus died for our sins.

What's the difference between oranges, fruit, and apples? Catholics and Protestants are Christians, though Protestants actually practice various manmade versions of semi-Christianity. Only the Catholic Church, the one Church founded by Jesus Christ for all mankind, teaches and lives the fullness of Christrian truth.

You have to understand that Christianity is a religion and Catholicism and Protestants etc are denominations of the religion. They all believe in God but have different policies and things that they do on a day to day basis. They have different opinions about certain things such as forgiveness of sins and praying.

Not a whole lot these days.
Though technically they are collectively called Christians.
Both Catholics and Protestants, however share many errant beliefs.
The big difference is one listens to the pope while the other doesn't.
