Been a bartender in NYC for five years now! I make almost 100k a year. I work four days a week, I wear whatever I want to work, and I get paid a LOT of money to get people drunk. work with my fiance (who I met at the bar-- he was a friend of a former co-worker). I never flirt with men or give out my number. I don't wear low cut shirts. I am very very fast (faster than almost any bartender i know and) and I have a nice smile, which seems to make people hand me large amounts of money for doing very little work. I live in a luxury high rise building in downtown Manhattan. I have money and time to spare. I'm also college educated, graduating from NYU with top honors. Which makes me an idiot to turn down money this good. :) Basically my job is awesome in every way. And my life is sweet. I don't know why more people don't do this!

I exist. It's mostly fun, but as any job it has its pros and cons. You get to meet people having fun, learn new drinks, and if you don't mind giving up nights and weekends, it's like living vicariously through everyone else having fun. The tips are usually good. And you get muscles from lifting cases of beer, wine, and changing kegs.
The downsides are of course working weird hours, not having a personal life, dealing with drunks, being sexually harrassed, and having to confront people to take away their keys.
I did it for 9 years, and it was pretty good. One night I made $600+ in tips. And that was at a small supper club.

A bartenders life and work are very demanding and requires current updates on what is going on in the market(like what new brands of whiskies, liquor, beer and wine are hitting the market). but if you enjoy your work then their are no hassles whatsoever and you get to know the topshot people. dfinitely there are few really well known female bar tenders in India one is Anoushka and the other is Shatbi Basu who has featured in lot of magazines related to Wine and spirits.

It's a great job sort of like going to a party everyday and getting paid for it There are those times when you have to deal with jerks so you have to be tough enough to put your foot down and always be alert as to what is going on around you.
The money is great.
I currently bar tend at a Private Club
