Check your state government jobs as well. When my father retired, he got a job at the state prision. The policy of the state was to allow you pay in double each year for each year of military service. So after only 12 years working at the prision, he had a second pension with 24 years of service level on top of his military pension.

to the best of my knowledge only the federal govt recognizes such service and can credit to retirement.....also active duty will also be considered in the level of leave benefits. i had the same level of active duty and eventually found a federal position and all my service time was credited....i highly recommend it

like you said government jobs, but he has to buy that time back. If not the time served is only calculated for annual leave purposes
