vaguely sounds like you bruised the tissue around the bone. that by itself would be nothing to worry about. but it could easily be something more serious.

I am assuming that you avatar is correct and you are a woman.

Well you know women have totally different HEART ATTACK symptoms than men. I think you should get to the ER.

Inflammation around the heart (it's Pleurisy, I think) is extremely painful. I had it once. I could not even take shallow breaths without pain.

Go NOW it does really sound serious.

I would agree with what most people said about going to the ER. Anytime you're getting chest pains, you never know what it could be. I mean, it could be nothing, but then again, it could be something that could lead to a myocardial infarction. Its better to just be safe and not take any chances when it comes to chest pain.

ok, i am not a doc, but i have the same prob. i developed pleuracy and bronchitis from swimming too much. (pleuracy is the lining around my heart and lungs is enflamed and i cant do too much physical activity anymore) i had weak pains at first and then they became real bad. i would see a doctor or go to the ER if it continues or gets worse.
