Personally I don't think that a woman should date a guy who's less than 3- 5 years her junior if she is contemplating marraige. It's been proven that women mature faster than men. Most relationships bring out the father figure and mother figure in the male and female. Women are better at adapting to a man being older and in a relationship with them taking on a father figure more readly than a man taking on a woman being a mother figure. No man wants to be raised by his mother twice. I dated a woman who was 49yrs old when I was 20 and it got really uncomfortable at times with her acting like my mother and looking the part as well. Not that I was bothered by her looks but it was dificult for me to take on the role as the "Man" in the relationship when she was more mature, worldly, financially stable and experienced in a lot more aspects of life than me. Looking back I know that she taught me a lot. If you care about the person and they care about you then as long as you both have a understanding of what the big picture will be as time goes on it simply is a matter between the both of you.

Well, I am 34, my rule is 5 years younger, 5 years older. That is just me though. People are different and I don't agree with a 17 year old going out with a 26 year old. Just depends on the mentality level. Some girls are looking for sugar daddies, for support in every way.
I am not into that at all. I like men around the same age as me.

How about younger men dating older men too, or older women dating younger women? Why is it always just a man and a woman???

I always say the man should be the older one but thats my opinion. There is nothing wrong with dating a younger guy. Theres 4 years between me and my boyfriend but he's the older one.
I'd say maybe a 15 yr girl and a 13 yr lad is ok, and upper years for both of you.

It's basically what makes you happy. If you want to date a younger man then go for it If you are worried about what people may say -DON'T! They are going to talk about you no matter what. I'd rather see a friend of mine dating a younger guy who makes her happy than an older man who makes her cry. The only person you can please in life is YOU-FOCUS ON THAT!

My fiance is younger by about 6 years. I think it wouldn't be right if she was 60 and he was 18. Or any teenager for that matter. She's 50, he's 30...meh, whatever.

it depends on the actual difference and how old they both are...the older you get the more it doesnt matter....but if your 25 and your dating a 18 year old guy...thats weird....however, if you dated the same person 20 years later....its really nothing to write home about....but any more than 15 years different....i dont care how old you are thats weird...good luck

Well I would date a girl at most 2 to 3 years older than me, to be honest. My mind might change later on. I prefer younger women tho, I dunno its just me I guess. =\
