It's a fraud. The leading NASA "scientist" has taken over a million dollars from democrat organizations.
Politics and objective science are not compatible.
Dr. Hansen should be fired or arrested for fraud, and all his work should be reviewed. Investigations should continue to look in the political activities or other scientist like Dr. Mann as well.
It should never be acceptable to sell science.

I am most saddened and embarrassed for my country for the first time in my life. The USA seeks not only to suppress science but to crush it. People openly state that their own welfare is the only concern, and if they claim not to be concerned, we should not be either. If the scientists don't agree they should be fired or jailed. There seems to be no limit to the depths of perfidy these people are willing to descend to, because of their belief that the end justifies the means. The lies being told about Global Warming, evolution, planetary science, reproductive health and cellular biology are astounding. The most apalling lie on Global Warming is the 1970's ice age prediction. "References" like National Geographic are cited, but if you read them, they say no such thing (as if that's where scientists publish their findings). There was one scientific report on climate during that decade. It said we didn't have enough information to support Global Warming, or the maverick Lowell Ponte's ice age theory. The report then enumerated what steps needed to be taken to be in a position to make predictions. So National Geographic in it's brief article about both took no side. Even then it was scientists versus deniers. Yet this lie will probably be repeated a few hundred thousand times more before the sun goes down today.
These people are far, far to the Right of the fascists in
pre-WWII europe. No wonder the rest of the world is arming itself with nuclear armaments. They are wise to do so. God help the USA and the world if these people are not stopped, and soon.

When it actually happens I'll give you a reaction. As someone already posted just 30 plus years ago there was the fear of a new Ice Age, now the Chicken Littles are panicing over a mild warming period.
The earth has weather cycles that may last for thousands if not tens of thousands of years and there is no absolute way for science right now to definately say we're going to see a lasting period of Global Warming or if the almost past due Global Ice Age is coming.

Having spent the last 24 years independently and objectively studying it from a sceintific perspective there is only one possible conclusion - we're affecting the climate.
It's no surprise, the mechanisms that drive the climate are being directly affected by our actions. In fact, the science behind climate change is fundementally quite simple and can be demonstrated in any reasonably equipped science lab. When the proof is so simple it would be extremely foolish to ignore it.
The science behind global warming is spot-on but the media reporting of it is often skewed. Add to that the religious and political element that fail to view things objectively and it leads to all sorts of confusion.
Claims that the world will end, humans will become extinct, the seas will rise dramatically etc have no credible basis to them. Similarly, most claims made by most skeptics have no credibility either.
Global warming is happening, that's impossible to deny. But it's a slow and progressive change. All the same, we need to act sooner rather than later, the effects have been clearly evident around the world for decades and they're getting more pronounced. If we act now we can mitigate some, if not all, of the effects.

I think it's a hoax. The planet has warmed up an entire degree in how many years? Give me a break! Check out the site. These particular groups actually puts it all into a nutshell for me.

Omgosh, people keep saying Global Warming is because of Nature, not humanity. It humanity that is causing nature to do that!
All you people are going to regret what you are doing to this earth one day, that's for sure. >.>;
Nature isn't whats causing the ice burgs to melt so fast, it's not whats cutting down all the trees for things we don't really need. Yes, nature is apart of global warming in ways, but we are to, and we need to stop being so lazy and irresponsible and try to help the environment and the earth so that 20 years from now, it won't be a bare planet of nothing, with everyone starving even more then now and no water to drink, most of the animals humans eat would be extinct.

As someone who was told the earth would freeze over "soon" in the 1970s, I'm reserving judgment on global warming. Check out the scare-book "Silent Spring" for clues and National geographic back issues. Science is an evolving thing, apparently.

It is real. It has been for hundreds of years. The earth has warmed and cooled many times. Man made pollution may alter how fast the change is, or how high it will go some, but most of it is just nature doing it's thing.

I think that global warming is something that Al Gore and everyone else are using to get attention. It is over-exaggerated. Studies show that global warming is happening mostly due to natural causes and it's hardly at all being caused by human beings. These studies show that all of those things that good old Al is telling us that we are supposed to be doing really won't help at all. The Earth goes through changes and phases... remember the Ice Age? I think people need to get over it.

Pop Quiz
What was the most important event in the last 100-150 years?
I bet the first thing you thought of wasn't "Sea levels rose by a foot."
Let's try again. What was the most important event 100-200 years ago?
Did you think of "Sea levels rose by a foot?"
My point is.. it's nothing new, it's not going to kill us off and it's not something we can control, and yet we have so many people running around doing "Chicken Little" impersonations. Thus my reaction is probably best described as "bored amusement"
