When my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Watching him dwindle away because of chemo and radiation was heart wrenching. He passed one year after his diagnosis. That was 5 years ago. I'm at peace because I believe our spirits don't die, only transform. He is with me. Although for selfish reasons, I wish he was here in physical. I also lost the man I loved in a car accident when a drunk driver hit and killed him.

Ive lost two very important men in my life, but its only made me stronger and realize how each moment is a gift, so we must embrace it. I won't even get into other tragedies, Ive had my share, pretty serious ones. But I'm a better person because of it all.

Have an uplifting day my dear!

We all go through "valleys" in our lives and for some reason we tend to think that we're the only ones. Sure, I've been through tough times which i thought were a real trial of my faith but, untested faith isn't much good. It's the trials that strengthen us and develop our character. A good example of this was the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. He was only 17 years old when his brothers sold him into slavery and he ended up in an Egyptian prison after being falsely accused by his masters wife. In all he was in confinement for 13 years. he was languishing away in jail in a foreign country and he would have thought that the whole world had forgotten him. This was all part of the Lord's plan for him as during this time he would have learned the language and when the time was right, he was brought up out of the prison and set at the right hand of the Pharaoh. he was made the second most powerful man in the world as even Pharaoh told him that he was as great in all things as himself, "only in the throne am I greater" he said. Joseph would never have realized that during the 13 years of confinement, the Lord was preparing him for a huge task which would bring physical salvation to the whole world as the famine was world wide. The Lord uses all different methods to work His good will through us and trials are often a step to something much better. Keep you chin up and be sure to commit everything to the Lord as He knows all too well about your circumstances. God bless!

By far the most profound moment in my life was lying in the ER and having a vascular surgeon tell me that in order to save my life, they had to remove my leg at the hip! My choice at that dire moment was "life or limb" and I didn't have time to think about it.....

One look at the panic on my precious mother's face gave me the "inspiration" (if that's what it's called); but my strength is in God. My faith kept me going, knowing that God has a purpose for my life and that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord. And by His grace, my leg was removed below the knee instead of at the hip! Praise God! Glory Hallelujah! The Lord is so good to me.

Today I can honestly tell you that I would much rather be in this wheelchair, serving the Lord than to have both legs and not know Him at all!

When I had to accept the fact that,no matter how young in my mind,my body was old and I could no longer hold a full time job.I was in a funk for about 6 months, now,I LOVE retirement. It was depressing first though,I worked all my life and enjoyed it.There is a lot to be said for goofing off whenever I want, going to bed whenever, sleeping late, traveling. Not depressed anymore. It was getting adjusted that was hard

No one can really say that they have been through it all
The most depressing moment in my life is not knowing what's next on my plate; when I am not in control

Getting myself out of it is just do it; get out of the situation that I was in; kick start doing things that successful people always do; help others; talk to others; give support and help to the less fortunate by contributing to their lifes

My last major depressive episode. My first love had just left me for no good reason and my meds were way off kilter from the start. I spent many dark months wanting to die. The only reason I didn't do it was because I knew it would destroy my mother. I even had nasty thoughts about her because she was keeping me living in my pain.

I lived through it with the help of my wonderful mother, my doctors, time, and my new (kind, wonderful, generous)boyfriend who spent months as my friend listening to me piss and moan about things before we got "involved".

The death of my younger sister from a brain tumor.
I made it through with family and friends and being able to share how I was feeling through out it with others. I knew I just had to nut up and I would be okay and make it through it but it was okay to be sad.

well, I have been so broke before with nothing to eat, I have been robbed a couple of times, I lost a baby, I did not have a pleasant chilhood, but through it all I still have faith that the future will be better and I keep a positive attitude. I trust in God that he will make things better.

When my mum passed away on the way to the hospital. It was pretty traumatic...I dealt with it for more than 2 years and finally embraced it. There is no better way of dealing with it than just to embrace it...i do believe time heals.
