Unless things change today, he will most likely will go to Iraq or Afghanistan. It will depend on where his unit is in its rotation.
It is scary, especially when you are pregnant. I really wouldn't worry about being deployed at this time. Even though your husband won't be there for most of your pregnancy, he should be there for the happy event. Try not to worry and enjoy you being pregnant.

I am a soldier and the wife of a deployed soldier, we are both part of the National Guard. I love being in, I love the fact that the National Guard is a highly trained effective group of men and women. Yes the national guard deploys to war zones, in recent years that has increased. So far there are very few soldiers and not one unit in my state that has not deployed with the exception of our state headquarters which can not deploy. My father is also in the National Guard and he is currently deployed as well. I wouldn't give this life up for anything the guard is a great family. Good luck on your decission. I hope that you can support him in what he wants to do.

He will probably be deployed to Iraq at some point in his career. What MOS did he sign up for? That's a big factor in figuring out how often and to where he'll be deployed. He most likely won't get shipped anywhere until he finishes his MOS school, but he will be deployed. If not to Iraq, he'll get to go somewhere else. It is scary to face a pregnancy with a spouse in the military, and possibly being deployed.. but just remember thousands of us have gone before you and it'll be ok ;)

honestly? 100% chance he will be deployed somewhere during his first couple of years. depending on exactly what his MOS will determine how high that chance really is he will go to Iraq, Afghanistan or Iran( and yes, I firmly believe we will be there in less than five years, regardless of whether we have left Iraq or Afghanistan by then)

Hi....It depends on his MOS....my husband is with the 158th Cav ( National Guard) and he is in Iraq now....it will be hard for you but, you will have a lot of support with your military family......take care and check in and see if your husbands unit has a FRG (family readiness group) together yet, it will help you....good luck

Depends on his MOS and Unit. Answers that no one will have until he is possibly called up. Iraq isn't the only war we have, we still have Afghanistan.
