Yes you can look for and attend interviews for jobs whilst on a tourist (B-2) visa but you cannot do work of any kind on this visa.
If you have been given a job offer you must then apply for work permit at the American embassy in your home country and this is a while new process.

You can look and even go for an interview if you call it a business meeting. You, however, cannot work until you have a work visa (which, ironically, you probably won't get until you actually have some work).

You can go on job interviews while on the U.S., even while on a tourist visa. However, you cannot engage in any work (paid or unpaid, including volunteer or training) unless you hold a visa that is valid for the work you are to perform.

Many people work even without a green card. The Hispanic people are often employed to do menial work and paid pittance because they are illegal. Just don't get caught.
