How can I continue to put on muscle but burn fat? I'd like to put on 5 more pounds of muscle without gaining anymore fat...how's it done?

It is very difficult to do both at the same time (unless you are just starting out). Build muscle requires you to overfeed yourself in order to create a caloric surplus (that is, you need to eat more calories than you are burning); muscle isn't built out of thin air -- you need food to build it. On the other hand, burning fat requires you to create a caloric deficit (that is, you need to burn more calories than you are consuming); to burn fat, you need to either eat less calories than you are burning or burn more calories than you are eating (or both).

So, as you can see, burning fat and building muscle require two entirely different strategies. The way to build muscle and to minimize fat gain (it is impossible to prevent it altogether, since you need to overeat to build muscle) is to create only a small caloric surplus every day. That is, overeat by about 500 calories or so until you are gaining roughly 2 lbs a week. Gaining faster than that is guaranteed to put fat on very quickly. However, if you gain slowly, then most of your weight will probably be lean body mass (provided that you are exercising correctly and actually building muscle - simply overeating will just produce fat).

Good luck.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
