Oh, everyone is saying to take a pregnancy test but i thought if i was on birth control, a test would always say I was pregnant. Is that not the case?

Your BC will not effect a pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests react to the hormone HCG your body produces when you are pregnant, and only when you are pregnant. BC is only estrogen and progesterone. So, yes, you can test for pregnancy and the results are usually accurate (as accurate as they are for anyone that is). Good luck.

Dolyn is right. You can take a test. The pregnancy test checks for the presence of HCG. Some people say that the birth control pill(or patch) "tricks" your body into thinking it is pregnant, so you don't ovulate. That is based on your hormone levels, not on the presence of HCG. It really isn't so much that your body thinks it is pregnant, but that it thinks you already ovulated.

Though it is not "probable", it is possible to get pregnant using any type of birth control.
Abstinence is the only way to avoid pregnancy.
Take a test, you don't have to see a doctor to find out of you are pregnant.

take a preganancy test, it will let you know if you are pregnant or not. birth control is not 100%, I have 2 kids that were a result of failed birth control.
