I ask questions to learn how other people think.
When I ask questions I'm not after textbook answers - reactionary responses that could easily have been copied from a pamphlet - I'm looking for the person's own thoughts or opinions.
If there is a god (which I believe there is) I don't believe any religion today has it right. If we as humans ever knew the truth, it was either lost or forgotten long ago. All we can do is try to make sense of everything ourselves.
I don't write religion off because I think there are some worthwhile elements to it; but to rely 100% on a book written a little over 1600 years ago means you're not considering the information for yourself. We may never know the truth, but we certainly wont if we never try to look for it.
I try to ask questions that can help me discover my beliefs.

I like to hear the opinions of others, hope to teach my faith if asked, learn about other faiths, and share what knowledge I have aswell as my opinion.
I believe in GOD , but for those that don't I can only pray that they can enjoy God in their lives and someday change their minds,
As I am certain they feel the same about us believers.
YA is a communication Forum, I love it and I think its the best one I have come across.
I also like the wide variety, because many days Religion and spirituality gets WACKY, with pointless questions,
Don't get me wrong I like a good Joke now and then , but I also feel there is a time and place for everything, ya know.
Well thats what I think , lets take a look at the rest of us.

Me no i normally ask questions that the Christians run a mile from because they can't answer them with any proof or evidence about just that the bible said so is probably my best responce, most of my question are about the so called events that happened in the bible, I.E the flood, Noah ark, Tower of Babel and many other fairy tale story that have no evidence what so ever that it ever took place.
All i do is look for answers for my own cause but they can't seem to provide them.

Certainly, no one can tell you everything about God but the Creator. When you bind with the Creator you will know God as your soul and mind become gifted and acquire perfect knowledge. When we try to understand how people think we are close to knowing a little more about God, but the Mind is a little more expansive than our thoughts. There is the body, that has thoughts, and contains the soul and mind; the mind connects to other minds and, to a certain degree -- different in everyone -- to the Will of God. What you might try is to learn what is in the minds of other people -- they are actually all connected and connected to God (it isn't mind reading, it is awareness of connecting). You can think of it as levels of knowledge, the greatest level of mind is God who contains all minds. So if you want to know a little about God, and your friends, try to be aware of your mind and how it is bigger than your thoughts as it includes a connection to other minds and to God. Go one step above thinking -- include the mind. With a bit of practice you will see how the mind is more than just thoughts -- it is much larger and networked with other minds and God. Jesus had the perfect mind, he knew all other minds and God, as he was the Word Incarnate. We can never be as proficient as Jesus when it comes to understanding mind, but we are endowed sufficiently with the Divine to see, however insignificantly, a small part of what He saw.

Well I feel that the mind is a tool that allows the soul to express itself. As the soul is infinite and yet has its root in simplicity, the mind limits self expression of the soul within the boundaries of its structure and experience. By knowing the mind and its limitedness, one can see past the limitedness to one's real nature. I think that the teachings of Jesus and others are for the soul like water and nutrients are for the seed.
9. Jesus said, "Look, the sower went out, took a handful (of seeds), and scattered (them). Some fell on the road, and the birds came and gathered them. Others fell on rock, and they didn't take root in the soil and didn't produce heads of grain. Others fell on thorns, and they choked the seeds and worms ate them. And others fell on good soil, and it produced a good crop: it yielded sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure."
We can find new sources of information from others about the nature of the world by asking questions.
56. Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered a carcass, and whoever has discovered a carcass, of that person the world is not worthy."
80. Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered the body, and whoever has discovered the body, of that one the world is not worthy".
110. Jesus said, "Let one who has found the world, and has become wealthy, renounce the world."
For if you search for God, you will find yourself, and if you search for yourself you will find God. Seek and you will find.
It is said in the Bhagavad gita: "The senses, the mind and the intelligence are the sitting places of this lust. Through them lust covers the real knowledge of the living entity and bewilders him. The working senses are superior to dull matter; mind is higher than the senses; intelligence is still higher than the mind; and he [the soul] is even higher than the intelligence."
One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.
BG 6.6: For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.
BG 6.7: For one who has conquered the mind, the Supersoul (Holy Spirit) is already reached, for he has attained tranquillity. To such a man happiness and distress, heat and cold, honor and dishonor are all the same
I think those who wish to inforce their minds opinions onto others are people whom have lost control of their own mind to lust. For if one's soul respects free will, one will speak one's opinion and allow the friend to make up their own mind. What do you think?

nicely, one would desire to look at it as an occasion of a thank you to income info and to think of critically and no remember if or to not fall for rumour, for in Genesis 2:17 God tells Adam to not consume of the tree of information of stable and evil and in Geneis 2:21 God makes Eve. So God had not actually mentioned to Eve to not consume the fruit. She had not even been created yet while God mentioned that. ~Atheist

I'm interested in opinions. Surely this is not the place where I would search and learn about God.

I ask questions not to find out about God but to see why others believe in him or don't. I'm interested in what leads others to their conclusions.

I like to hear all the viewpoints--I don't think that anyone else has such a superior intellect or spiritual insight that they can attain a clarity I could never aspire to, but it's interesting to see the conclusions other people have come to. I'm open to listening, but like you, I don't think anyone else can tell me what my Truth is. I have to do that on my own.

I'm with you on this. It is interesting and informative to know what other people think, but in the end, I'm responsible for making my own decisions.
